To bad nobody saw the race. There were a few who dashed over to Manzy after the races at PIR were done. Every one of them said the grandstands were horribly empty. One guy said: "Its like the track scheduled a race and only invited a few of their closests friends to watch." Methinks USAC should put those midgets on DIRT with the sprint cars from this point forward and have a huge Western World program. Mr. Martin.....can you make that happen for us to go along with your "Copper On Dirt" as well??

As for those Silver Crown cars.......I hear the National Automotive Safety Institute is always looking for cars to destroy in crash tests....wink

KOP, quite the contrary, I was there and I would bet there was a good 8,000 there. More than I thought would be. Not bad considering it was a Thursday night at 7:45 start. But I agree with you, do away with PIR (although I love the midgets on pavement) and have the copper on dirt in the spring with midgets, sprints, and silver crown cars. As for the silver crown race last night, it was actually not a bad race, but the cars do look horrible.

Yep, I did miss the Midgets last night but I can still tell my NASCRAP friends that a Midget runs faster at PIR than Jeff Gorden.

This years poles.. Josh Wise 26.176......Carl Edwards 27.114

Matt: Thanks for your observation. Since I didnt go to PIR, I only know what others have said that went. You are the second one that has told me that there were a few people in attendence. I have others saying different (as in way to few) so I guess its all depends on ones viewpoint as to what is a small crowd and what isnt. I hear that the midget race was a good show from almost everyone that was there.

Kenny: I KNOW your at Manzy. Where are you parking yourself at in the stands?? I'm floating in the pits and in the same section you saw me at the "Dirt" earlier this year.

Well KOP, ... I'm at home right now in Prescott waiting for the Internet show to begin. I'm protesting them mucking up the deal with late models..LOL No, not really.. Though I have nothing against late models they don't belong there after 39 years of history and it sure won't help the track any.

I had a little altercation with a truck on my fishing trip down in Mexico a couple of weeks ago and my Jeep needs some attention and unless I get a room it's a 200+ mile drive to and from plus the other expenses and I'm going to miss it for the first time in years. I used to drive over from Albuquerque when I lived there for awhile but I guess there's a first time for everything.

I will not miss the Copper on dirt though, no late models, LOL even if I have to hitch hike.

Kenny
