Noticed they put more water barrels up to cover the bridge supports. I dig it. That whole area between the bridge/pit crossing/opening in the wall, was pretty gnarly. While it might not be ideal, it's a huge improvement as far as blunt force injuries are concerned. Kudos to Kathy, Jason and everyone else involved. It also shows that safety improvements don't always have to be expensive. I believe Barry Jackson pushed this idea last year so credit to him.

I know it’s iconic but the bridge is a huge safety issue.

I remember Bobby Fletcher in the 66 flipping down the back stretch and almost hitting the bridge like 20+ years ago. The sort of funny thing about that incident was that my son and another kid were sitting on the bridge unbeknownst to the track safety crew and when they ran down and off the bridge the safety crew was surprised. These days it looks like they always check it to be clear. What a wake up call that was.
It's a p.i.t.a. to cross these days and need to be replaced by a tunnel.

Never will happen if they have to construct it to ADA standards.
