Kerry would be one of the top free agents if that were to happen. No way he would be "SOL".
Looks like he is shit out of luck to me!
|
What I meant by this is, Kerry is a hell of a driver and will be picked up by someone. He isn't SOL because he'll still find a good ride ......

Wasn’t there supposed to be 2 teams, one full time woo and one “true Outlaw“ schedule? Maybe that fell through.
|
According to an article on Sprint Car Unlimited, the efforts to merge the two teams fell through after the Final Finals. The article concentrated on the CJB #5 efforts going forward and did not address Quering's #2 team for next season.

Would someone please state the basics for me? I thought the CJB car was #5 Stewart owned by 3 family/friends from the northwest area. But some posts make it sound like Tod Quiring. So did Tod own both the Stewart 5 WoO and 2 Kerry Madsen based in Knoxville.
What do I have mixed up and or missing.?
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

Or he'll just drive the same #2 car he has been for the last few seasons...

The CJB car is owned by the Clemens family and is based in Carlisle, Pa.

I'm very happy for Brent, he is good shoe. I've seen him win on big and small tracks. Now that he doesn't have to worry about getting his team up and down the road and all of the other things he will be able to concentrate on his driving game. Super nice guy with a great family surrounding him, it will be nice to see him back at the local arenas more often.

Sounds like maybe the Posse is making a comeback with Brent in the CJB car and Matt Campbell in the Westbrook car that should be two more quality cars for the bigger shows.
Wonder if Brent is bringing his sponsors along he had some good ones on the 19;How many cars will Weikerts be on last year the 48,5 and 41 all carried Weikerts Livestock.

For those bashing this thread about "Silly season," this topic has been posted every single off season since this forums inception since 1998. It is a small part in what makes Allan's site so popular the past 21 years.

I swear I remember hoseheads before 1998? Really?

There are definitely more accomplished drivers out there but Brent has passed more cars on the WoO tour than anyone over the last two years. I'm ok with it. They see potential, why not give him a shot.

I doubt Marks will be running weekly PA shows very much.

I guarantee they will be running all the bigger Pa shows. Barry Jackson already stated he has no interest in traveling any more.

But so does Brian Brown and he’s not Posse. I’m just saying I doubt they’ll be running any handicapped shows in Central Pa in June.

I'm happy Brent got the CJB ride. I wouldn't be surprised if part of the reason he got the ride is Quiring's money needed replaced.
I didn't read it anywhere but I bet M&M Construction and BAPS are coming on board. I don't blame CJB for getting a good driver who has the bucks to bring along.
Maybe some of you remember this from last year. Didn't CJB and Gravel part ways; because Jackson wanted an older driver ,because him and a younger driver had to much of a generational gap. Now he is all excited to get a 28 year old driver. Anyone else recall last year?

I disagree. I think the reason Brent was chosen was because of his performance on track. Guys dont always need to have double digit wins to get noticed. The guy passes more cars than anyone throughout the last two years. He runs well in big races. He masterful at Eldora. And now he has a marquee win under his belt with the National Open. And hes done this with just a guy or two helping out. No real crew chief or even a real crew. I get that alot of seats are bought, but I dont think this one of them.

Jackson and CJB let a generational talent go in Gravel. That team has a bad track record in terms Of letting drivers go or being a driver-friendly team for sure.

I'm wondering what you are basing this on. I've always liked Shane, but Marks has passed the most cars on the WoO tour in features the last two years and just won the National Open. He needs to qualify better, but he races well.
Shane just didn't fit in this operation, which was clear to anyone who has eyes.
Nice to see someone different get a shot in a quality ride. Paid his dues in his own deal and it worked out for him. Look forward to seeing the results.

Maybe Mark's poor qualifying set ups and better racing set ups is a testimony of his skill as a crew man also. If he is lost when they show up and can adjust as well as they do as often as they do, I think he would be a contender most nights if the were fast out of the trailer and qualified better. But then it is one thing to past other local cars who qualify poor and stay slow than to start near the front and think you'll pass The 15, 49 and 41 just cause you passed the LCS transfers the night before.
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!
