Drivers get all the credit, lets give a shout out to the all time guys that keep the cars in one piece and on the road. No special order.
Karl Kinser, Bob Trostle, Davey Brown, Guy Forebrook, Tommy Sanders, Ricky Warner, Kenny Woodruff , Phil Poor, Moon Byers, Cubic Dollars,,lol.
Next topic...... Best one man teams, that means owning, maintaining, driving, and winning

Bobby Allen, Stevie Smith, hell back then you could line up a A main field with driver/owners. Joey Allen, Van May and on and on.

Let's not forget about Lee Stauffer. Easily triple digit wins just in Pennsylvania, among many others across the United States.

Re: One man teams-
I saw Rich Bubak from Colorado racing at Husets Speedway in S.D. one time. He stopped on a red at the flagstand, got out of his car and ran like heck to his pit area to get a tire and a jack. Other people pitched in and helped him when they figured out he had no pit crew except himself.

Neat story about Bubak. Lee Stauffer's father Ed was head and shoulders above his son, on and off the track.

And the most underrated of them all. His Knoxville record is 2nd to only a few.

Some great ones for sure. but if “all time” is the criteria, then it’s Davey Brown!
65-ish years of wnning race cars - truly amazing!!

Davey won last night.
But we all know that the races that count are next weekend.

That's a great story about Bubak.
Lynton Jeffrey showed up at Port Royal by himself and won. It was in 2017 or 2018.

Going to throw out a few names that will not only date me , but pin me down geographicly.
Glen Niebel, Wally Meskowski, Galen Fox, Jim McQueen, Jack Steck, Bruce Bromme, Paul Leffler, Steve Stapp, Dizz Wilson, Bob Hampshire, Jack French, Judd Phillips, John Singer, Ralph Hintzelman, Willie Davis
I didn't get very far into Ohio or Pennsylvania and there are probably some guys on the west coast or the midwest who should be mentioned. but I'm not sure who they are.

Maybe the best driver/ wrench out there is still doing it. Slammin Sammy. His competitive days are behind him but no one turned a wrench or touched a tire without his direction for most of his career.

Bob Trostle, Davey Brown and Kenny Woodruff were the all-time greatest crew chiefs IMO. If you like to read about sprint car racing, nothing better than Bob Trostle's "large" book about his 20+ years building 500 sprint cars and having a who's who of drivers that drove for him, even Jeff Gordon. Funny stories yet insightful and includes lengthy accounts of him taking 3 teams to Australia including 14 year old Gordon, Haud, Shane Carson, the late Rich Vogler, Jack Hewitt, and Danny Lasoski, they all went down under with him during the 3 or 4 years he was hired to bring three teams down. I've read all the sprint car books (just got the new USAC history book) and Trostle's is a great read even a 2nd time. I may read it a 3rd time in a few years. Its that good.
Lawlessness + liberalism = HELL - NYC, Detroit, Chicago,
Seattle, LA Who the H runs those cities.

It wasn’t until I saw his display at the Sprint Car HOF that I fully understood the number of ideas and innovations that came out of his garage. Everything from bleeders to the tread pattern thst is run on Hoosiers to this day.

I think you can add Doug Wolfgang to this list as well.

Without a doubt!
Sammy is always overlooked at a crew chief but his record speaks for itself.
i can’t think of a single driver/ crew chief in any series, that can approach his record.

I'm my opinion one of the best crew chiefs has been hanging out at home with his wife and child the last few years....can anyone guess who it is?
