Pittman, Reautzel , and Elliason actually won $5,000 a piece. Or their teams did.
every team that put down The $200,000 down were guaranteed their money back plus and extra $5,000 if the race didn't get the minimum 18 drivers

That's true, provided they got paid.

Who won? Not Chuck. He still owns a racetrack he doesn't want and I doubt he'll get the 6.3 million he wants for it by auctioning it off in pieces.

He can do what he wants with it unfortunately. The auctioning off of it in pieces is yet another way for him to thumb his nose if you ask me, and what's worse at the end of the day, the land itself will still be owned by him.
No one should buy squat from him at his auction. jmo.
We all have our opinions on CB the indivdual and that really doesn't matter, what matters is the track is only worth what someone is willing to pay CB, NOT what he THINKS/SAYS it's worth.
It's the same as a custom motorcycle, you can do all the custom work to a bike you want, but at the end of the day, it comes down to year & miles and what someone else is willing to pay for it, not what you put into it or believe you should get for it.
That's why this deal sucks the most, cause you're dealing with an egomaniac that will not budge an inch and has an aggenda.
Years from now there will probably be an article on some dirt racing website, "Chuck Brennan, the man who killed Huset's".
Sad but true.

He said if it didn't happen he would tear the place down and donate it as a wildlife refuge. The deer and geese are the winners.

He also said he'd make it into one of the world's finest dirt tracks too, so maybe honesty isn't his strong point.

I wonder what he is going to make the starting bid for on all of the pieces of equipment that he is going to sale & how they will be broken down. I can just see a water truck with an asking price of $500k or the grandstands for $3.1 million. I guess not all hope is lost because he may just price himself to where no one bids at the equipment auction. I mean the track had a starting bid of $3.1 million and he would not lower it after no one bid, oh wait minute they just didn't want to make the first move I forgot. I feel bad for everyone in the area & everyone who attended the races there. Very odd you see a track race for many decades on a budget and when it actually gets an influx of money it closes because the owners feelings get hurt.

To be fair, the reason he closed it had a lot more to do with poor business decisions than anything else.

Yeah but the water truck will probably have Gene Simmon's autograph somewhere. Only one like it in the world so this will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for some lucky water truck shopper.
The water truck may even be full. The grandstands... not so much....

Oh yeah that's right I forgot lol.I guess I got confused after he said he was closing the track down because he was tired of all the negativity he was getting. So many lies it's hard to keep them all straight

Also to be fair, he did make it into one of the worlds finest dirt tracks. He also made no promises of keeping it open for more than a year, at least that I know of. Maybe he's more honest than people give him credit for lol.

Pretty sure the reason for closing was he was trying to build a brand (Badlands) between the radio station, pawn and gun store and the track which he was obviously willing to spend a lot of money doing it and obviously that money was coming from his SD Dollar lone centers and I'm also guessing that would have taken a few years to do, however when the loan centers went away the party was over. Now as far as the track it appears he has zero intention on selling it, it has become his toy to mess with people, the place is immaculate, two to three full time staff working (mowing) there every day. Unfourntly the people he is messing with are the same people who supported his dumb ass .
