I can't believe there has been virtually nothing in this forum on one of the greatest drives in World of Outlaws history. Last Saturday night at Pevely, he won a non-stop 55 lapper by over 10 seconds which is about what it takes to make a lap in that place. He lapped up to 5th place and wasn't far behind the rest, it was simply magic. In lapped traffic for over 50 laps the camera finally had it right by keeping it on the leader a good deal of the time. Some of the slide jobs and slashes in between two cars have never been done by a vast majority of sprint car drivers, ever!
If you get a chance watch the replay on youtube or Dirtvision or wherever you can find it, especially all you naysayers, well worth the ten minutes or so. It was funny when Jac came up to Victory Lane and gave him a big hug and then when asked as he walked away about Sheldon said something to the effect, he was pretty fast tonight, I think he lapped me twice and he did, along with others. I have seen close to 600 W of O Features 'live' and many more on PPV and it stands out as the single greatest drive I have ever seen and I think Johnny Gibson was feeling the same thing with his comments, a true classic and sweet irony that the smallest driver in the field is a true Ironman.....

I agree Mike but I feared he was going to ball it up on either end of the track every one of those 55 laps. It was great to see him get the win Saturday and bring it home 2nd on Friday but watching him drive is not for the faint of heart :-).

Agreed! I had an early morning Saturday and I fell asleep before the midget feature... luckily my dogs barking (at nothing) woke me up as the WoO parade lap was starting. I managed to stay awake and then Sheldon's drive was like a shot of adrenaline. I couldn't fall back asleep after watching an ass whooping like that.

Me and a buddy were arguing about this the other day. He says he was 10 seconds ahead of 2nd place and I say it was 6 seconds They we returning laps around 10.3 seconds. If there were five cars on the lead lap and it takes 10.3 seconds to get around and he was 10 seconds ahead where do the five cars fit in? And while it was definitely a whoopin I don't think it was quite as astonishing to me as it was to you that's 55 laps nonstop on a short track. 35 laps yes it would have been mindblowing.

Pretty sure Johnny Gibson said the margin was 10.3 seconds. Guessing by end of night lap times were around 12 seconds. He was on Schaefer who was 5th. I believe 2 thru 4 were just ahead of him so 10+ second margin seems plausible

I guess it happened then I had heard 6.8 seconds and I had heard 10 something and even considering lap times fell to 12 seconds I couldnt wrap my head around it. Last I looked he had just over half a lap on him I would put that at 6 seconds so that's what I went with

Easy E, did you watch the race? If you say no, then you have no reason to comment, if you did, your guide dog must have fallen asleeep!
Chris err, threadkiller, exactly my thoughts, controlled chaos is another expression that comes to mind, he is even more exciting than his Father who by the way predicted that to me in his workshop at home about 15 years ago. He was riding a bicycle doing motorcross and Jac thought that he would be special when he got to sprints and man was he right! Breathtaking is another adjective that describes that run, I went from laying on my couch watching to sitting up and cheering him on, Patti has to be sooo proud, I know Jac was.....

Very impressive drive by him on Saturday. To go a little further, its actually a nice turnaround for that team in general the past month. I dont think they had the best week leading up to the Kings Royal but the night of the Kings Royal he made quite a run and at one point I thought he had one of the 2 fastest cars on the track. Past couple of weeks he has top 10 plus 2 2nds and a dominating win. Hopefully they have things turned around for the rest of the year.

With no disrespect to the other 'like father, like son' comment, this one ^^^ is more like it.
I didn't see the race, but I've witnessed dad do it many times. Tough on equipment - yeah, but lots of 'adrenaline' . What's not to like about that?

They've had a good streak going lately and Saturday was super impressive, but Sheldon still has a lot of consistency to find.
He's traditionally struggled at Knoxville so we'll see how this week treats him.

And after the race Easy you would have to remind him that he did that and his response would still be 'oh yeah, I forgot about that'. I have seen him bounce off of everything but the pace truck and come back and win races, Jac in his hayday was well worth the price of admission alone, something young Shell is starting to do on a regular basis.
We need to get him a nickname, how about BombShel Haudenschild....It incorporates part of his real name and he races like he was fired out of a cannon a lot of the time, hence BombShel.......

Thanks for reminding me. That was truly a great show by Jac.

I can assure you that even though there is not a lot of chatter on Hoseheads, it was all the buzz on Sunday around Knoxville----in the stands, walking around the merchandise trailers, and in the Dingus.
(and, as for nay-sayers, he wasn't very good until he caught fire a couple of weeks ago. Many are just calling what they see. Gotta love watching that kid race though)

He's always struggled at Williams Grove too but ran a close 2nd there a couple weeks ago. The team/driver seem to have turned a corner and found some speed. Could be 1 to watch this week.

I think it was such an a$$ kicking that it left a lot of people suprised and speechless. I know in all the years I’ve went and watched the Outlaws at Pevely I’ve never seen anything like that. Sheldon proved this past weekend that he is a wheelman and deserves much respect. He’s going to be just like his dad. Always have been a fan of Jac’s and proud to say I’m one of Sheldon’s as well.
