Anyone have any info on any non woo regulars confirmed coming to the iron man? Seems like the 360 nationals always gets a few drivers that would be there otherwise. Kinda always wished they would change the date a little later or earlier.

Yep your right I seen he was gonna have his car at a tire shop near the track this week so I assumed he was coming. Didn't look at the date closely though

Is the Ironman 55 the most forgotten and over looked race (by fans) of the WoO and entire racing season?

Is the 360 Nationals the most overrated race on any calendar?

Not usually by the folks around St. Louis. I expect it to be packed like most years. Especially since Pevely hasn't raced many nights this year because of the river.

Not according to the entry list. Sorry to offend you, but just throwing it out there. Lot of guys in Iowa that would or could jump into a WoO show but wont because they are taking part at Knoxville all week. If there are more than 24 cars (410s) at the Ironman I may stand at least somewhat correted.

No offense taken at all. I just prefer Outlaws and powrI midgets to 360 Nats.
Pevely usually gets 30 or so cars and every year but one that field has contained the eventual Nationals champ.

I agree with you. Very little build up to the race. I had to look at the WoO website to see who won last year. Great race concept (55 laps) and awesome $20,000 to win finale and tons of local support. But as soon as the race is over, everyone is on there way to Knoxville and that's where the focus is for the Sunday night Capitani Classic, Front Row Challenge and Wed-Sat. races. I would love to see this race scheduled after the Knoxville Nationals when the WoO work their way to the west coast, then work there way back east before the PA swing. Like in late September before the 4 Crown Nationals at Eldora and the National Open. The race should have around 50+ entries/drivers, not barely 30. But if it currently works for the promotors and WoO, then so be it.

Pevely seats close to 6,000 and has standing room and infield viewing for about 2,000 more. On Friday the bleachers will be nearly full plus some standing and on Saturday it will be absolutely packed. To have the race at another point in the schedule could not draw many more fans without becoming overly crowded. Bringing in a bunch of also-rans from Knoxville and other places would not improve the racing. Besides that, it gives some 410 drivers that would have little chance of winning at Pevely an opportunity to get more track time at Knoxville and beat up on the 360 drivers. By the way, I do not think that anyone that raced in the 360 nationals has ever won the real Knoxville Nationals in that same year.

Regular 410 drivers beating up on the 360s, not too true so far. At least not what I expected.
From a promoter point of view a full strand and a full field is full success. As a spectator I like more, the more the better.
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

15 of the top 20 in points at the 360 nationals are current or former 410 regular or part-time drivers

So, many of the top 20 in points, at the 410 Nationals, will be current or former 360 regular or part-time drivers. Many very good drivers started in 360's, and still race them often. Sometimes that's what's racing in the area that they live in.

Pevely gets a lot of people who stop there before going to Knoxville including a lot of people on tours from Australia etc...I think the race benefits from being the week before Knoxville tbh.
