Looking at the standings for the WoO this morning.  Gravel is still in striking distance with the amount of time left in the season.  If it was September I would say too late.  However, I think they are really starting to hit their stride as of late.  They seem to be a factor in every race.

Is it possible we could see him close this gap into double-digits and make this a 3-car battle for the title?

He would need two bad nights from Schatz and Sweet each, both of which hardly seem to happen. Its not out of the realm of possibilty, but unlikely.

I've been saying since early May and I'm feeling more and more confident about this sentiment as the year goes on, but I think he's going to win Knoxville this year.

All 3 are running good. Gravels slow start will probably hurt him. Being 3rd means he needs both cars to have issues which usually doesn’t happen.

Schatz still has a great shot at number 11 if he can dominate that post Knoxville stretch from North Dakota to the Pacific Northwest like he usually does. Sweet should have a big advantage at the Cali tracks and then you come back east to decide it. Should be fun.

I've been watching his 2nd places eat away at the margin. I would love to see and think he will get to within double digits with consistent podiums and a few wins but doubt he ll get yo the top.

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

I'm not ready to put gravel in the same box as the 15 and 49. Hes shown to much inconsistency over his career I look for him to fall back soon and have some out of top 5 finishes. I think the 3rd car moving into the box is the 1s. Maybe not this year because like someone said he had a slow start also and I don't think he will catch up.

As far as championship goes, not out of the realm of possibility but might be a little too far out with how the 49 & 15 are running. But he is in striking distance if mistakes happen.

Outside of the championship, I would say right now as far as the Outlaws go, the 49 15 41 & 1s are a great to win no matter what track. That is refreshing because past handful of years once summer hit it was the Donny Schatz show. You add in locals here and there you have a pretty competitive group.

Outside of Rick Warner, I think all 4 of those teams have stayed consistent the past few years. Obviously Gravel is new as a driver, but that whole 41 crew might be one of the most under rated crews going through what they have gone through and having the performance they have

1s is even more inconsistent than Gravel.

I think David started the season inconsistent and has now started to be consistent.  He has shown speed all year and is now getting the finishes to match the speed.

Logan is fast 3 of the 5 races it seems.  Once he gets to beingt fast at 4 of 5, look out.  But yes, I agree, still more inconsistent than the 41.

In response to the other posts:  I also know it will take some bad luck for the 49 and 15 but still PLENTY of time for things to happen if the 41 can keep up the top 3's----even if it is an outside shot.  This year's title could be a great race to the end and I'm already excited about the 2020 race!

I think it's been great for the sport as you have a few more guys that are a threat every night. It's been 1 hell of a season so far. The cream is definitely rising to the top. They have all aspects working, driver, car, crew, it will be interesting.

I'm not sure, but I can tell you that they got positive news about his dad recently and it may help propel him. People have no idea everything that he has went through this year.

That move he made to take the lead was unbelievable. He threaded a tiny little needle and did it 100% clean without getting into anyone or using anyone up. You don't see moves like that every day.

Bam! Like Babe Ruth in the '32 World Series.

I think I dislocated my shoulder patting myself on the back so hard.

I believe Logan started with a new crew this year as well, but even if so he’s what like 24-25??
