Originally it was announced that James McFadden would sub for Kasey for a short stint. I believed that to be the case when they didn't even get a team firesuit for James. It has been a couple months now and Kasey is no where to be seen. I see James even has his own KKR team firesuit now. My question is this. Does anyone know the actual status of Kasey? Is he doing OK? It seems Kasey's injury has been kept pretty tight lipped and I was wondering if anyone knew exactly to what extent Kasey was injured this past spring? Also, will he be back in a sprint car this year, or is James going to finish out the season?

James is in the car until Knoxville.
Kahne’s injury is undisclosed as far as I know, but I think he’s scheduled to come back later this year.

He was on Wing Nation last week. As said above it sounds like hes getting better and plans to return later in the year.

On Kasey's return..A connection of mine in Minneapolis who has a pretty close relationship with someone on his NASCAR team revealed that he had concussion issues..That is why he left NASCAR, not what was publicized..Could be symptoms came back..Hope he does return but if not, there is more to life than racing a car..

It's not really hurting the 9 team anyway. JMac has been much faster in that car.

So Kasey is a snowflake for dealing with concussion issues? Glad you're immune from them, Smitty51, since you obviously have no brains...
When in doubt, gas it!!

Kahne left nascar because he had severe issues with dehydration during long races and doctors recommendations which is why he can race the much shorter sprint races
there was a driver this past weekend at New Hampshire that weighed himself before and after the race and he lost 9 1/2 lbs
Kahne is currently out with a concussion suffered at williams grove crash and flip back in march

1 dickhead comment. Kasey is doing the right thing, it was a miracle nobody plowed into him at the grove when he got it upside down. That car came down and hit the surface really hard.

I hope Kasey returns soon and gets some seat time this year. Tony Stewart has improved so much in the past 5 years. I don't know how Tony survived sprint car racing in 2013 he had so many crashes. I saw him race on dirt in 2013 and then in 2018 and he was so much better last summer. I would like to see how Kasey (re)develops as a sprint car driver over a span of 3 - 4 years.
Good Luck Kasey.
