Lance spun on the front stretch, not sure what caused it. Dietrich punted Monteith with a bad slidejob attempt, racing for the lead in turn 4. Highlights are on youtube.

Yep slide job gone wrong....the sad part is Monteth was running on 7 cylinders for half the race and readily admits he probably did not have enough to hold off Dietrich for three more laps. The bad part about last night's accident for me, is that Monteith intended to race tonight at Selinsgrove which he rarely does.....but now the team will put a new car together for Lincoln tomorrow night. (should be fun)

we just moved into the area last year and i hadn't seen anything from dietrich to justify why some people don't like him. he's great with the fans and is exciting to watch. the first thing i said to my wife after that stunt was "now we know why people don't like him". he doubled down on twitter by saying people in the stands are mistakes instead of just admitting he screwed up and leaving it at that.
it was AWESOME to see chad trout win. the bad guy cleared the way so the good guy could win. ryan smith benefited too. i was worried speedweek would be boring after dewease blew everyone out at the grove but last night set the whole thing on fire.

Apparently you didn't read the entire tweet because the first thing it said was.....
"I made a big mistake tonight and didn't clear a slide job. Absolutely my fault. Tookmyself out and Brian. Feel bad for both crews."
Then he mentioned the crowd, which always has a bunch of idiots in it, especially when they throw shit on the track.

Great show at my favorite track. Most nights the racing is so much better than the half mi tracks. Good to see the smaller team get the win. I feel bad for EDGE tho. He sure exciting to watch.

I used to be a big supporter of his but that ended a couple of years ago. He's one of the most naturally gifted drivers I've ever seen. He usually races clean but last night was anything but. He 100% admitted to it so I give him credit for that then the 2nd half of the apology is where he goes off the rails. I've been posting on here for awhile and I've said it many times in the past: some Posse fans are total idiots. Last night that was on full display and I don't like seeing that at all whether it's Danny or Donny Schatz. That said, Dietrich brings it on himself. Since he got on Twitter, he's gone completely out of his way to fire people up and even went so far as to say in a tweet early this spring that he wants the people that hate him to hate him even more. So what the hell does he expect? He knows as well as me or anyone else who lives here what some of our fans are like yet he continues to go to the extreme with his words with the intentions of throwing gas on the inferno. He can dish it out but he sure as hell can't take it. He's as thin skinned as any racer I've ever seen. Again, the display by the fans in turn 4 was disgusting but he's the one who works overtime to bring out the worst in his fans and moreso, the people who hate him so he shouldn't be surprised when he gets what he got last night.

Racing is becoming pussified. Slide jobs have always been a part of racing. Once the car doing the slider has their rr at the other cars #1 spark plug.. Both drivers can make the decision to avoid contact and use the brakes.. One driver can still see (car being slid) .. He is the one in control of the outcome of situation 80% of the time (some stupid sliders that make contact before the mid point of the corner are 100% the driver doing the slide jobs mistake as the other guy never had a chance to see him). Once you are half way past the corner the driver on the outside is in control of the outcome.. He can either lift and cross over or try to run the outside line.. One of those decisions is far riskier than the other.. My point being.. He is in control at that point.. He makes the decision.
Before you all jump and down saying the car must be cleared completely.. You don't need to be all the way past 2nd place at the finish line to win..

I always love the "BACK IN MY DAY WE GENTLEMEN SLID UPHILL BOTH WAYS" shit people always post.
I really like DD, think he's refreshing and love he's not afraid to speak his mind, but he's really wrong on this one. Easily one of the worst sliders I've seen this season, probably one of the worst I've seen in the last few years. I'm not even sure what his gameplan was. He just parked it on the 21.

I would agree the slider clears the other car, but last night Deetrich ran right into him.

The first 16laps of the feature last night was some of the most intense racing I’ve seen in along time. It was a shame the yellow came out when it did. I hope Lincoln can produce the same track conditions on Monday!
Dietrich’s slider attempt was pitiful at best. No other way of looking at it. This coming from a Dietrich fan.
Ive sat in the turn4 bleachers at Lincoln since the mid 80’s. For the most part the fans there are just passionate race fans. They cheer and yes sometimes they may boo but it’s mostly in fun. Don’t lump everybody that’s sits in turn4 with the few idiots that acted out last night.

Funny when folks on here say its those terrible POSSE fans. Well i been to Eldora and Charlotte and had drunks falling all over us in the stands. Every track has some of those.

Been going to Lincoln for 30 years.....Can remember just a few years ago fights starting in the stands over Fast Freddy Rahmer...now the two drivers with the biggest fan bases on a typical Saturday night: Brian Monteith & Danny Dietrich.....Nothing wrong with that. The old Reading Fairgrounds always had their fan favorites. Have you ever been to a big block modified race where Billy Pauch, Sr is racing....it is all good. Do you think there will be a few extra seats filled tomorrow night at Lincoln because of last night's incident?........that and hopefully Kyle Larson in the field. Can;'t wait.

Check out Jack Hewitt's slide job on Leland McSpadden at Eldora some time it was in the early 90's when the CRA came around.

i get your point, but thats rediculous in this situation..if you clear the guy ok..but this was not even close..so all the drivers should just start throwing sliders every lap and expect the guy being slide to throw on the brakes. By mid season we would have no cars left cause everyone destroyed theres.

Did you even look at the pics in the link..? Brian had time to make a decision and he is the only driver that
can see at that point.
Brakes are cheaper to replace than a chassis.. The smart ones will figure it out..

I had other plans last nite, but from the video, DD blew the slider & admitted it. I don't really care too much about who said what to who on Twitter
Selinsgrove was a bit of a yawner tonite... what happened to Dietrich's car early in the feature?
Going to Lincoln tomorrow... Larson coming? ... that should be cool

I just checked Larson's website... coming to Lincoln tomorrow & then Grandview]Now I'm tempted to stay around another day..... smaller tracks should be more competitive than "the Groves"....
