How was the crowd on Friday (not trying to be snarky, just interested in how healthy this event is going forward)

The crowd was good. The stands had folks in them from end to end and top to bottom.
It wasn't packed, there was still room for more folks, but the crowd was pretty good.
What would help this event going forward is 1) the weather, 2) the weather, and 3) track condition ( I know they are working on it, it's new dirt. Still finding out what works, how to prepare it. On Saturday, when they hot lapped on it before the rains came, the track seemed 100% smoother than the day before. )
There never was a buildup of anticipation or a good flow to the festivities because of the weather. Otherwise, it's looks to be a fun format at a beautiful facility with a big purse and 60 cars showed up.
I brought my friends Saturday and after hot laps they were really excited to see the racing. They want to come back for the rain date. The Saturday crowd looked similar to the Friday crowd. People around the country are gunshy of the weather and for good reason.
Overall, I think this event will be okay with time and consistency and it will grow...if they stick with it.

Yeah, Friday was far from packed. We had reserved seating in section L and we had an entire row to ourselves, two of us. Plus the row behind and in front only had a handful of people and the location was pretty good, which most are. Saturday may have filled in more than Friday if the rains hadn't come when they did.

An unpopular opinion on this and other message boards, but they should bring in the WoO to run the show. You could keep the format but I think you need their expertise in running a big event. Look at the improvements they made in one day in Nashville.
The car count this year wasn’t that impressive anyway so i think you’d get 50-60 cars if you brought the WoO in.
I don’t even know if this is an option given the politics involved but to me that would be the best path moving forward.

I agree although probably half of this message board is Anti Woo, and would like to see it remain as an unsactioned event.

Is there any evidence the WoO made all the corrections in Nashville or could the local group see areas for improvement and adjusted. If the WoO is that experienced why didnt they see the descrepencies before Friday night?
Just saying the WoO are not necessarily the solution for all things and I like Mansfield being unsanctioned. More small team will attend. Imo
And for an undisclosed amount around another 100,000 dollars they get 12 more cars of which 6 are elite and 6 will miss the A main. So you get 72 cars instead of 60 for that extra cost. Not worth it..
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

How long is Cody's lease with the track? Im guessing there is a lease to buy. Just curious if there has been any mention of buying the facility!

I agree. More small teams will attend.
The show Friday was run fast and there were enough push trucks and they removed the wrecked / stalled cars quickly. Speedshift was there and Chet was announcing with Brian Liskai. It sounded professional to me and the show moved along without any issues.
The only problem this past weekend was the weather and the new track surface, in my opinion.
If those two things go good, then word gets to other drivers and you have a bigger field the following year.
Even with the bumby conditions, the racing was good Friday. It was good last year too.
