so here i am at the PRI show, and come to find out, the so called 'innovators' of sprintcar wings, being the 'fast' group, seemed to be admitting they are a little behind the 8 ball after getting caught by a representative of dirt motorsports (after the lights were out) measuring the 'Vortex" wing on donny schatz's car(which is on display in the DIRT booth).. so who are the innovators really? i wonder what fast's adds will say now, 'fast wings, our tape measures might put you in victory lane!' lol

I doubt Fast wings are embarrassed about anything. They have been in the winner's circle their fair share. We have run them for over 10 years and have never had a failure and have had several wins. I doubt the non-winning nights could be blamed on them. Keep up the good work Fast.

Any smart company will benchmark themselves compared to their competition. I can guarantee you (because I work for one) that many companies have competitor show rooms where they test and evaluate their competitions product just to see how they stack up, as I'm sure they do the same with ours. It is just part of a competitive marketplace. You really think Ford Motor Company has never boughten a Chevrolet?

It's really funny how stories can get turned around. I just got back from the PRI show. I happened to be in the Dirt Motorsports Booth when I saw Shane Carson (who is the Dirt Motorsports main tech man) take a tape measure out of his pocket and help one of the Fast guys measure the wing. After they were done measuring I listened to the conversation. Their conversation consisted of if they should allow the wing to be legal and how they should write the rules on the belly size . Apparently Dirt Motorsports must respect Fast Wings and had asked them their opinion on the belly dimension.

Dirt Motorsports is still looking at rule change in the wing rule. Look for more testing to be done (like the ones at the end of the 2006 season) thru the first half of the season and prolly a wicker bill rule emplemented for the rest of the season

To rickyfan10 and all... Fast Wings has been working WITH Dirt Motorsports since this past summer on ideas and changes of the wing rules! Shane Carson invited us over to their booth to measure the wing on Donny Schatz car. The rules were a big topic of discussion at the PRI show and many opinions were heard! The data gathered from the measurements off of Donny's wing were strictly for Dirt Motorsports! If any disrespect was taken by Schatz Motorsports or Vortex Wings we apologize, it was not intentional.
Sincerely,
Kent Winters (owner)

I did notice that Vortex was the first to have the big right hand sideboard available to customers and now everyone including Fast have seemed to copy them. That is the nature of the business, everyone copies everyone.

Why would you be in-bare-assed?
People are always asking each other what is going on. What are you running? What are you changing? What tire might you put on?
I am pretty sure in all racing you are measuring and looking at each others stuff every day. Wondering what they are doing. If you are not measuring and comparing to your 'enemy' then you are not on top of your game.

LMAO SPrint 99. you know he's embarrased. This thread is THE perfect example of someone starting a post after they were maybe the 100th person to hear the story. Of course by then it's a bit different than what it really was to begin with. Should FAST be embarrased? considering they didn't do what was mentioned at the beginning of this post.......no. And even if they did it would still be no. This is sprint car wings.....not nuclear software. I highly doubt when it comes to sprint car wings someone would really have to sneak around to measure it.
But we should all remember it's not really rickyfan's fault. He just posted what he heard. I did the same thing about the Brodix ToC dq of Chuck Swenson and pretty much got put in my place as well. Everyone in this forum has done that at one time or another.
How much would could a wouldchuck chuck if a
wouldchuck could chuck would
