Four features and home at 9:15. The rain cut loose for good at end of make up feature  at Lincoln, great job upping the start times for both tracks!

Agreed.  It would be nice if all tracks kept the programs moving along as they on any night as they did last night.  As for Port Royal, they must have worked the water trucks overtime as it was probably the best track they have had all year.  Great speed all evening and very, very little dust.  Hope they prep the track like that the rest of the year.  Also absolutely love watching Colton Flinner race in the late models at Port.  I have become a huge fan of his.  Truly as real gasser around the top!

It was nice to witness 4 pretty good features and get home at a decent hour, it also proves that shows can be run efficiently.

Big shout out to the Maustellar family and everyone involved with keeping midget racing alive, nice car count. I hang with a group of diehard midget fans and we just cant thank you enough, we are all hoping the ball keeps rolling, you have our never ending support.

Agreed with all of the above. Lincoln and Port Royal both did an excellent job in all phases last night. Williams Grove did the same Friday night. They too had a rain delay and spun off the 2 division program in basically 2 hours. These things don't go unnoticed by fans and teams alike. Same can be said for Selinsgrove because they got their show in too. With all the ridiculous fighting over Lincoln vs. Port and everything else, this weekend proved how lucky we are to have all of these top notch tracks in our area.

So who won?

2 features @ Lincoln, Robbie Kendall and “TheEdge” the winners. Jeff Miller, graduate of the 305 ranks, with his first 410 win @ Port.

Agreed.  Great job by all four tracks this weekend!

I was going to go to Lincoln, but the rain kept me away.   It didn't look like they were going to get it in according to the weather report.

Let's go Sprint Car Racing!

I said last year how a track ran till 11:30 one night and I got bashed for saying that. If they want to attract younger fans they

need to keep things moving. I know how lucky I am to have so many choices in central pa. JMHO, Craig

Tracks make alot of thier money on concessions the longer they drag it out the more they will make there

I get the concessions thing but they also need to understand they lose butts in the seats. I have limited my race attendance to only big events due to tracks dragging things out. So while they make a little more selling hot dogs they lose a ticket sale, and a potential hot dog sale.

How far is PA advancing their start times to get these races in? Seems like OH tracks will move hotlaps from 6pm to 5pm even when they know the rain is coming at 8pm. If they seriously wanna get a race in, then hot lap at 2pm.This isn't specifically directed at Eldora either considering thats exactly what they did this past weekend. All Ohio tracks seem like they refuse an afternoon or sunday race while it seems like PA does it regularly.

When I looked at the radar & AccuWeather on Friday & saw the forecast my first thought was move it up another 1-1 5hrs. It was forecasted for rain at 7pm & lo & behold what did it do at 7pm. Same thing with the All Star race at Attica a couple weeks ago, the make up date. Was nice all day but rain was forecasted in the evening so it was cancelled.

I get the whole want for an evening race especially with track prep & the track drying out but, I think the need of getting a show in is greater. With the advancements of social media & technology, I think you can move up start times a couple of hours on a Saturday & get the word out  fairly quickly. Especially with 48hrs notice. At that point, the forecast won't change that much

I get your point but you cant undo all of your advertising in 48 to re educate everyone who planned to attend. Your theory may work for locals who might show up late and miss a race but if anyone travels a few hours planning to arrive an hour ahead of the start time, I'd be pretty ticked to walk thru the gate after the heats or miss it all after a several hour drive.

The track needs happy fans leaving the facility so they talk positive of the experience and return with friends.

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

They did it on Saturday & had a crowd. They have done it in other instances as well so if they can move it up an hour 24hrs prior & get attendance, then they can move it up by 2hrs with 48hr notice. With the sport being a niche market & technology with instant updates, Facebook, Twitter, and news feed updates it would not be that difficult.

Plus we are talking about doing it when weather is a threat. I would say if you are going to drive a few hours like me to a track you would check the weather a few days beforehand? If it's not looking good you will be checking for updates on weather & at least the track website. And I'm sure the day of you would check the everything again prior to leaving if not before race day. On the advertising you can always put start time subject to change. You can't change advertising in 48hrs, but you can update it quickly. And in order to have fans leaving happy you must first have a race at the track. If they leave in the middle of the heats because of rain, or because the race was cancelled even though it was sunny between 4-7pm, they won't be happy either

I'm suggesting tracks make these types of announcement 24-48 hours in advance. Obviously you can't make a decision the day of the race. Its 2019, if you drive several hours for a race without checking social media (where news travels fastest), I don't feel bad for you.

But theres always this reply when it comes to early start times. Or people saying fans can't get off work in time... and neither makes sense to me. Ok boohoo, you planned to travel several hours or you can't get off work in time. In some cases there are situations where if they dont advance the start times nobody is going to see a race at all... And its happened multiple saturdays already this year. With the weather/rainouts we've been having I'm sure plenty of OH fans would attend a saturday show with 2pm hot laps. I dont think the small percentage of fans that are stuck at work would be missed. As for making fans unhappy because they weren't able to attend... So since they couldn't attend no one is allowed to see a race? Haha.

EasyE had it correct.  They don't want to move the show along super-fast, only when needed if rain is threatening.  Concessions!!  Money!!  Helps keep our tracks open and "thriving", hopefully.

I believe Port went caution free during the heats. When you can do that or only have a couple quick yellows and no reds you can push through pretty quick. It's not about selling more food as everybody says. Sometimes it's just the way it is. I will agree some nights the tracks do need to try a little harder or have less divisions.

I believe Port and Lincoln moved start gimes up an hour from 7 to 6. Selinsgrove didn't move up at all but were very lucky as a brief drizzle hit the track after the 1st feature race but stopped long enough to complete the show.
