First of all, this sounds great---at least to me, the outsider.
Question, because I don't know----will many 305 teams be forced to purchase new motors? Or, were some or most running these engines?

That makes sense as to compete with a 305 would cost more than the $16K Pace 525CT complete ready to install . To have Pace as title sponsor is big .The Knoxville 305s were not legal to compete in Racesaver class and are now obsolete. There are shorter tracks such as Eagle and Jackson,Boone where the cheaper engines are doing just fine. I had a micro and there were people spending more on a 600cc than a complete Pace.Unless the purse changes I would think that a Pace Pro Sprint might have a better chance of breaking even than the 360 class as there are many good cars and drivers.

I think they informed teams last couple years the mandatory switch was coming so they could gradually switch over with their motor programs. I’m sure it’s gonna hurt some teams in the beginning but overall will be a good thing

I agree with keeping the cost down but when are they going to pay these guys a little better, you can race karts anywhere in the US for more than these guys are getting for winning and they bring just as many people and put on a great show as the 360 and 410. Its the same in ohio without a motor rule, the 305 need to be teched or sealed by a nuetral shop. Hell your almost better off to buy a older 410 to get laps and the move up would less of a curve.

I have a Pace CT525 Evolution engine with 29 shows since new with the original Pace seals in place for sale if anybody is looking to get one.

Maybe the teams already knew about this but it sure seems late to announce this if guys have to go buy engines to be ready in a couple months.

They are paying them more. There's a balance of keeping the costs down, and also not raising the purses so much that drivers are willing to put that much more into their program, in an entry level class.
I enjoy watching the 305 class but I have never gone to a track to just watch the 305's, so I beg to differ that just as many people show up to watch the 305's as they do the 360s for 410s.
As drivers progress, get better, gain more sponsorship, they move up in classes.
Keep It Real

Ha Ha, you funny guy. I will sell it for half the price of a new one so that is still a pretty good deal for you.

If the CT525 does indeed bring good racing at a lower cost, the next step would be to phase out the 360's in favor of a larger CT525 field of cars.
