My apologies if a reason has already been stated here but I've been away from the forums laid up sick. Was just wondering if anybody knew what happened that Path Valley is no longer on the Speedweek schedule? I ask for no other reason than sheer curiosity, as I always enjoyed the change from the bigger tracks and it seemed to have a fairly decent draw.

There’s been no definitive answer, but some reasons stated were possibly 1. track safety, 2. Fred Rahmer out of the promoting business, 3. Alan Kreitzer now at Selinsgrove therefore the better date (first Sunday) at Selinsgrove.

According to their promoter, Rahmers contract expired and in the contract there was a clause where they couldnt host a 410 race for a year.

I love path....but...their weekly crew wouldn’t be able to handle a 410 show.
rahmers shows went off fairly well because he brought in the resources needed to run 410s. ie. push trucks.annoucers,extra track workers ect...ect...

Path valley is one of the best 1/4 mile tracks out there period. Stop on the safety talk. That 600 micro went straight up the track and head on into the wall. Very unfortunate situation is what it was.

I think its a valid concern. I think Path is very racey and a fun place to watch Sprints. That said they don't have a real ambulance on site weekly from what I understand, just an old ambulance owned by the track that can't leave the property - they can only drive to the end of the driveway and wait for another ambulance to get there. When Rahmer was running his shows they brought in several ambulances. That is pretty key not just for drivers safety but with so many fans on what will likely be a very hot day in early July you have the potential for fan injuries as well.
