7 Drivers breaking the track record and first time 50 winner. Fast track and tons of passing. Great run Freddie! Certainly would not have seen a race like that without the rain.

The speeds were incredible, thats for sure. Your number one problem when you are going that fast though is that there will be no small wrecks. There was a lot of torn up equipment today.

HIs right rear came off in the A. Logan Wagner hit said tire and caught some serious air and had a hard hit.

Watched on dirtvision. Great feature with a lot of passing. Speeds in the feature we're between 16 to 18 second bracket for the feature for a lot of the cars. That is where they should always be at port. The feature is what everyone pays to see not the heats.
Let's go Sprint Car Racing!
Knoxville - Best Track In the USA!
Eldora - 2nd Best Track in the USA!

From pic I saw rear axle broke on Shaffers car causing the tire to come off. Really should get rid of the lightweight axles, same thing happend to Spencer Bayston's car also.

Some on here will say that nobody goes to watch the heat races. Of course, that opinion is one born of stupidity. I go for the entire show but really dislike time trials. For the first time in my 40 years of going to Port, the TT were exciting as hell. Watching to see who was going to be the next to lay down a blistering 14 second lap was great. The heats were so-so but it's racing, and that's why I go, unlike some crybabies. Overall a fantastic day of racing, even without a certain crybaby at the track.

I'll agree with you that the heats usually suck, but if I'm paying good money to get into the stands I'd really like to see some good heat racing.

I go for the feature. Nobody will remember who won the heats or if the heats were any good in a couple of years. But they will remember who won the feature and if it was a great race or not.
I deal with facts if you want to deal with made up opinions go right ahead. The track was awesome for the feature yesterday.
Yesterday is the way it should be at the Port.....even though out of there control it was a little too fast at the beginning and again that was not there fault. I for one am glad it was so fast at the beginning after seeing a feature like that....probably one if the the best daylight shows I have seen in quite some time.

Usually when the heats are excellent the feature stinks, unless major track prep occurs in between.
I watched on DirtVision yesterday and the track looked great.
On a side note, and not getting into the Posse/Outlaw debate, but that was a lot of money the outsiders took out of PA yesterday.

The WOO winning any money from the Tusky was the biggest downfall of the event. It has always been a race for the locals & should remain that way.
PS Not a fan of it with an All Star sanction either.

Damn right that was exciting. I don't mind time trials but they rarely put me on the edge of my seat. Yesterday, they did. Then the track widened out as the day went on and we saw some very good racing. I have been critical of Port's track prep in the past but the last several races, it's been dead on the money. They can still get it plenty wide without it being bone dry. When Port is like it was yesterday, it's hard to beat.

I watched on Dirtvision and I agree the racing was great! As far as heats and T/T go, if I don't see all of the hotlaps, T/T and heats I feel like I have been cheated. That's how we did it when it was my Dad and I attending the races, and it's still the way I do it today!

A lot of odd things happened yesterday to make that worse. Dewease wrecking all by himself, Marks breaking something sending him across the track to get punted big time, Logan Wagner wreck that there was nothing he could do about, Lucas Wolfe was going to be third until his engine started to sputter the few laps putting him back to sixth, T.J. Stutts was headed for a top five and his hood came apart with six or seven to go, Detriech had a flat tire and restarted in the rear and came back to seventh. I guess it was one of those days when shit happens and yesterday a lot of it did.

Yep! And Haubstadt is the only track I've witnessed with the equipment to do major track prep multiple times throughout the night. Other than that track you usually get good heat racing with a dry slick feature, or wet n heavy (some might say follow the leader) heat races with a good feature.

I thought the second half of the feature was good with quite a bit of of passing after the track widened out some. It would have been nice to have that earlier as the heats were single file no passing and not a whole lot of passing first 20 laps or so of feature. Good thing it was 50 laps. Other than the NTR, the racing was OK but not really anything to write home about. They did do a hell of job working that track to get it as good as they did though. Track crew deserves an A+ for that.
PS. Need to get rid of those stones in the infield parking/work area. They were drug across the track from the cars going to the pit area. Caused a few flats, blown tires. Looked like LD might have blown a tire the way his car made a right turn into the wall.
PS2. Really dumb IMO to invert top 4 in the heat races and then reward the heat winners with top starting spots. Just start them heads up and reward the best timers. Otherwise it doesn't even make sense having them. No passing in the heats anyway.
