I'm not one for reading too much into things or creating mysterious dissention where it doens't exist, but that release did have an air of parting ways on not the best terms. I'm NOT saying people hate each other, etc. but there is a definitive tone of "yeah we're kind of over each other and ready to move on." That's not a bad thing, those things happen, but it could be why a seemingly succesful partnership is parting ways (meaning something besides performance based).

Yeah, I got that from it too. I know nothing about the situation but I have seen Gravel saying many times he wants a shot at pavement. I think when a team gives you the full backing to be with the World of Outlaws, it comes off as ungrateful. Just my thought, I could be wrong.

Gravels quote was interesting as was the tone of the release, I agree.
You can tell both teams (2 and 5) are getting ready for 2019, neither team seems all that competitive since the month of money.

Sometimes I miss the 80's. Haud would just unbolt his seat from a car and you'd have to read Speed Sport the next week to find out what car he was in.

Would we be having this discussion if Gravel's 2018 wins matched 2017?

Rahmer. McManhan Gravel. Must be the drivers. Haha. Good luck Shane. Think you will need it!

Well I sure as heck don't think that Shane is putting himself in a bad situation. There sure as hell is nothing wrong with finishing third in the points race three years in a row like this team has. But if this team thinks it can just magically win the points race, then for highly successful people they can sure be stupid! Schatz a hasn't won the title (now) nine times by being lucky. I believe Shane gives the #5 team the same chances they had with Gravel. The only thing they had better consider is the first year of being together can be a learning experience for the entire team. Doesn't mean it has to be, but it often is.

This is easily one of the best teams out there, probably the best non-nascar driver owned team. Given the team's history I'm a little surprised a young PA driver who picked up his 1st WOO win this season wasn't offered the seat.

I too agree the top 3 woo rides are KKR TSR and CJB. I also agree Shane gives them as good a chance as being successful as gravel if not better

Just like they canned Rahmer and Stevie Smith and Mcmahan before him. Spare us the cutesy play on words. The team is a revolving door.

Exactly. Schatz' team has stayed together for years & won. Everybody else keeps changing drivers, crew chiefs, etc. They need to hang together & figure it out... no "magic" as you say....

Looks like the pavement racing isn't happening. Just read on Facebook from him he will be racing with World of Outlaws next year. Wrote a very nice classy letter about CJB and Barry. Said he should know in a week or so

Wrong again, you have about as much inside info as any of us, which is zero.

Gravel without a doubt will be running a full WoO season in a car that I can’t name. But I will say, the team he will be driving for has the bull by the horns ...
