Hate doing this because it is just hearsay and I do not have any legit sources on the matter, but I heard from the rumor mill that Hunter Racing was actually folding/closing.

So in a somewhat twisted way, this might be good news as it seems based on the language in this release that Hunter Racing will be continuing?? Sucks for Chad as he is a quality driver around the Ohio region and his record speaks for itself, but I was worried that there would be 1 less owner in the area. We will see what happens, not sure if Chad will run his own car again or not if no one picks him up.

I heard a few drivers *wonder* if Rob was closing up shop.  Not a rumor, but some drivers were "wondering." Not sure if that is the case.  Might also be an opporuntity for a driver to bring funding and/or equipment to the deal too.  We shall see, but if Rob does indeed close up that's a big hit to the All Stars and OH sprint car racing as Rob and Rita are longtime owners and very supportive of sprint car racing.

Saw someone with a modicum of knowledge or that is at least "connected" to the OH teams mention Dale Blaney in the 10H next year. Hmm we shall see.

Now that would be an interesting pick up and a solid team, especially if Brian Kemenah is staying on as crew cheif. That would make that team hard to beat if they were to race the All Stars next year.

This is a curious parting.

Nobody wants to lose a team, but I certainly appreciate what owners spend to entertain the rest of us

The wording right now used in the release doesn’t indicate the team is folding and unless I’m reading it wrong it doesn’t say Brian is going anywhere.  The Hunter Racing Twitter account doesn’t say anything about it either, not that they have to either.

Its disappointing though to see a good driver out of a ride

Not trying to be a dick here, just can't help but ask. What made the 10H team not so hard to beat this year ?? My opinion, Reutzel and Macedo were the cause of that. Without those two I believe Kemenah would have won the championship again and he stays in the 10H. Not a strong year for Kemenah, 2 wins and one wasn't a points race. But we can only assume this was the reason he’s leaving, who knows.

One could read a couple different things from your statement. 1. Blaney is a better driver than Kemenah and 2. Kemenah doesn't have it anymore. Regardless, he's out and I hope they don't close shop. I don't think Tony can afford to lose 3 cars next year. Well he can lol, but us fans can't.

Don't worry, you're not being a dick at all and actually posed good questions so let me clarify.

I would agree with your first statement that Reutzel & Macedo were the cause of the 10H not winning another championship and he probably would have won (at least the drivers) championship. Paul Mcmahon may have given him a run for his money had he ran all the races. Chad was consistent as always this year, but the 87 & 3G were basically the talk of the year for the All Stars and that is nothing against Chad. Like you one can only assume that is the reason or it could be that the team is closing, or maybe the victories the past couple of seasons just did not come like they had hoped. I think he only won 3 races last year as a majority of the All Star races in 2017 were won by outsiders.

Whether Blaney is better than Kemenah is going to be a matter of preference and one that could be argued. Both can obviously get the job done given the right equipment. My statement about Blaney being a good pickup and hard to beat was more along the lines of, well if Kemenah is out of the picture then with all the available drivers out there then Blaney would be a solid competitive pickup. I still think Kemenah has it and is able to get picked up and at the very least is able to go back to his own 63 car that he ran for so many years. Like you I would hate to see 3 cars off the All Star tour next year no matter the circumstance. Like I said, the rumblings I heard was that the 10H was closing so the language that was used in the press release was somewhat of a shock. Made it sound like the 10H was open to having a new driver next year

Kemenah is probably the most consistent driver on tour the past few years. He had 21, 26, and 24 Top 5’s in the past 3 years (2018, 2017, 2016). In those same years He won 2, 3, and 1 race(s). he just doesn’t win that much. He’ll always be towards the front but rarely seems to pick up the win. So only having 2 wins really isn’t surprising for him, as that has been his average the past few years. Keep in mind the 2017 and 2016 seasons were both championship seasons in the 10H too.

As for the team, I just hope to ser they continue to field a car whether it’s local, in the ”new” FAST series, or with the all stars.

I read their twitter post, they have had an accomplished sprint car career as owners and they are hanging it up.

Thank you to the 10H for hauling your sprint car all over the country for us fans to see.

I don't believe they were happy about Macedo hopping in the 7K car and receiving owner points at I believe Port Royal?

Might have "renumbered" it for the feature, not sure.

sonoranrat,

Twitter is great because you don't need a twitter account to read twitter posts.      And you don't even have to keep clicking "Not Now" like you do on Facebook if you lack an account.

Here is the Hunter Racing Twitter page:

https://twitter.com/hr_10h

Oh... and here is one their tweets from Sept 12 which was about 5 days after the Port Royal ASCoC race.

"Can someone explain the concept of OWNER points.  Maybe the definition of Owner.  And people wonder why independent owners are leaving this sport!!"

If you Google "Twitter" followed by a racer's name, you can easily find their twitter page.    I have no social media accounts but I read twitter all the time because it seems to have the most up-to-date information.
