Hoo boy!

I was impressed with what he has accomplished so far (especially at Knoxville), but after tonight... hats off.

He ran a good race, kept the car outta trouble, and didn't do something stupid and throw it away.  Keep in mind though that when the top 5 finishers finish largely where they started with the exception of Logan it kinda paints the story of how the track was.  Logan won his heat and ran faster lap times in his heat then he did on his pole run.  Hell, Lance was still cutting 16 second lap times in the B main.  Track was way way way too tacky to start and didn't widen out until really late.  That isn't Williams Grove fault though.  We have gotten a ton of rain here the last week and that's just part of the deal sometimes.

Schatz came from 22nd to 10th so there was some passing. Some of that was the double file restarts but I thought the A main was pretty good.

It was nice to see the place packed on a prelim night in tribute to Hodnett.

Not the track record, just the fastest lap of the year. Track record is 16.140 set on April 26, 2002. Tonight I think Shaffer got within a tenth in his heat, but I don't think that would have technically broken the record since I believe with most tracks you must do it in qualifying.

No, not really.  You can't do anything about the rain.  The track didn't start to come around until about halfway through the feature.  Not a bad night,.....not the best either.

I can't wait until Saturday night.

16 year old kid comes in to one tough track and its lightning fast. Meh, no big deal.... that was cool to see. I knew he had the faster car, but thought Gravel's experience and the narrow track would keep Gravel up front. Twas not to be.

As far as the weather, we now live in Seattle. They are actually shooting scenes for Platoon 2 in my backyard as we speak.

The track should be a slicker and wider tonight, so we'll see. Hopefully its a good one. The track takes a lot of guff, and some of it deserved, but when they hit it out of the park, especially for an Outlaw show, there's nothing like it in PA.

Here's hoping.

"Not a bad night"???? Really Strawser???? Every race with the exception of the feature was follow the leader. The two dashes could have been one lappers and the result would have been the same. OMG, if that was another track we know in central Pa. ol' SOBStrawser would be typing so much he'd have hand cramps.  The track was not good and the majority of the racing was boring.  Even the guy sitting to the left of us was falling asleep, lol.

I was very glad when Scelzi passed Gravel for the lead.   There was some passing.....with a lot of side by side racing back in the pack.   The feature was pretty good.....and the drivers actually had too much grip most of the night long.  All in all I would give the track crew a JOB WELL DONE even to race last night given the rain and how the parking lot looked last night.

After the races were over last night....they started working on the track almost right away with a disc.  When you have a 2 day show that is how it should be.   With the cooler temps the track should be in good shape for tonight.

No doubt the kid has a ton of talent and isn’t afraid to get up on the wheel, but I wouldn’t put him on top of the pedestal just yet. There's just too much other up, coming and already tearing shit up talent out there to say young Gio is "The Next Big Thing". I know that’s just your opinion and this is mine. But I bet you a beer I'm closer to being right than you are ....

Plus, I've seen the evil empire of PoonTang wipeout some very promising professional sports careers, so he still has that slippery bullet to dodge .... lol

You can only work with what mother nature gives you....did you see the parking lot?  Was there any mud where you parked?  I was glad I was there to witness Scelzi pass Gravel and see the side by side back in the pack during the feature.  All in all the track crew did what they could with what mother nature had given them and it wasn't hard black and dry by the time the heats were half over.....just sayin!!

I don't go to see the heats....I go for the feature.   With how the outlaws line up the heats no matter how the track is it is very boring.....I never did like starting the fastest guys on the pole=boring racing for the heats always has and always will.

I thought it was a very good race.  That's what I pay to go see.  Not a slip and slide show.  The catfish bottom feeders are the ones who don't like that kind of track as you could tell by the results.  Way to to Gio!!!!  Hopefully more of the same tonight!

Say what you will his first time at one of the toughest tracks for a traveler to win at and he cracked a can of wup ass on the possie and WoO. Just saying. See facts are facts in record books down the road. Won't say anything about track conditions or how many cars. We'll all see yonngest WoO driver to win A main and at the Grove his first time. Makes me think some possie feeling got hurt. Donno, just saying.

   Peace, Out.

The track crew ran the surface

in, every chance they got. The track was the same for everyone. If the cautions had not come out when they did. We would have seen the leaders in traffic. Then it would have been, game on. Gio did a great Job! Start up front. Stay up front. Gravel got to see how fast Speedway motors are. Lucas was solid all night. He had to put up with little Freddie's normal style of racing,  and had a strong third place finish. I imagine Tim Shaffer is not a fan of lil Fred

We are all missing the special cermony they had for Greg.  They did an outstanding job with everything they did to honor him.  To me that was very special for the Hodnett family and close friends that went through a nightmare over the last week and a half.  I give the Grove a STANDING OVATION for how they honored Greg!
