Not really a big deal for Brownie. He didn't just come for this race, he's sticking around for others so, really no effect on him. Don't think they'll be running the make up today, with the weather, so hopefully next weekend they squeeze it in.  Dust in hot laps??? Hell, I saw push trucks and tractors throwing dust and slicking off the track lol.

Everyone was bitching the track was to hooked up Friday and no passing. If they were out there with the water track on Saturday with the way the weather looked they would of been bitching about that.  No win situation for everyone.   They gave it a shot and I thank them!

Wait.....I've read this, like, 6 times and I'm pretty sure that Mr. Stawser is saying something positive about the Port here....but even after the 6th reading I'm having a hard time believing it.

Maybe someone hacked his log-in ?????????

only 16 cars finished the race so a lot of the "passing" strawser talks of, especially outside of wolfe and zearfoss was probably not really passing.  One groove racing is the problem. Not lap times.  Top was too fast.  If the big cushion isn't there, then top and bottom are competitive and you see passing by better drivers and cars with better setups.

Oh geez here we go. Do any of you track prep experts think that maybe they just maybe they didn't want to dump a lot of water on the track because of the forecast? Yeah TT's were slow and they were already up along the fence but the mist during TT's was actually starting to make the track faster and if the first 3 laps of that heat race was any indication, the racing was gonna be outstanding. Smooth, wide and multi-groove is what creates good racing, not flat out around the cushion. Yeah it's impressive to see them go warp speed. I enjoy that but I also enjoy a good multi-groove, dry slick race. One of the best Tuscarora 50's I can remember started out on a very slow, dry slick track. Monteith and Kreitz ended up battling back forth for the lead right to the end with Ryan Smith right behind them.

Their new weekly format that starts the feature straight up from heat race finish has created no passing features all year.

The problem on Friday with the track so fast that if you didn't start in the first two rows of your heat you didn't have much chance to quailfy with that field. The heats were really boring. The feature was decent with passing although not as much as it seems with attrition which was high for the quality of the cars in it. There usually are not that many cars dropping out of races like that.

Where did you see how many cars each driver passed or in this case didn't pass ? Just wondering. All I could find was finish position and start position, ASCoC site and Port Royal site ....

Suppose maybe tracking the drivers that bettered their start position, and those who went backwards from their start position would have the answers? Think about it.

Cant fault the track crew for the track prep it rained for about three hours Saturday afternoon so I understand why they did not water ,but even on a nice day track would have been bad since they did not dig it up Friday Night.

Boy, am I a dumbass. Here I am thinking that the best way to give an informed opinion of a race was to actually go to the track and watch the race.  I mean, that way I could see who was passing whom, what conditions the track were in, and pick up on some things that don't always show up on camera.

God damn, if I only knew I could just sit at home and check the start/finish order online and look at lap times.......  If I only did that, I too, could tell people who were actually at the track about how the race really was. Think of the money I could have saved. Think of all the people online who would always look forward to me setting them straight....  I know now.

Thanks for showing me the light everyone.

(wet fart noise)

Obviously, you didn't read the previous post's, but I do appreciate your concerns for my education lol. I was just trying to figure out how this guy came up with these drivers moving up that many spots without passing anyone ....

Actually I did fail math, however I did pass sex education. If you don’t believe me just ask your Mom ….

I watched the highlights and they were running more than one groove. Like I said mother nature threw them a curve not their fault.  Track was fast a little too fast. For the track to be at its best high 15 second brackets for TT and low 16 second brackets.  Any slower and the track will be used up before the heats are over....like most Saturday nights this year.  However, the last few were much better a lot more water in the track.

Aaron +14 and he didn't pass a single car

Paul +12 and he didn't pass a single car

Carson +11 and he didn't pass a single car

Mike +10 and he didn't pass a single car.

The only ones that pass anyone was lucas & Brock....now that has got to be the funniest thing I have ever read!!

I bet you have some swamp land somewhere you are selling too.

By the looks of it you don't go to many races anyhow. But you sure do put a lot of research into what happens at Port, AND, box scores don't tell the story most of the time. Along with others opinions.
