Another great show put on by these two on Saturday night! Balog gets STewart by .004 after a slider in traffic in the last turn of the 30 lapper.
Post-race interviews from the two of them were great as well.
Eliason would have made it even more interesting but contact earlier in the race sent him to the back. He still charged back through for a top 10 finish.
Link to the feature is on Bill's FB page...but I can't seem to get it to link.

Smoke should stick with the IRA at least he's competitive.

The finish was excellent. And also the previous restart from yellow when Billy slid Smoke for the lead in one and Thiel got them both going into three. Smoke had the lead back by start/finish. The crowd cheered with appreciation with what they just saw after the finish. Not sure if it mattered who the winner was. Those are the races you are glad you went.

He did just beat the all stars AND the posse at BAPS last weekend, but that must have been a fluke.

He fully admitted in a Winged Nation podcast at Knoxville that he's been 'terrible'. He is still an incredible talent, and an incredible draw to a race, and it was a great night. The point of my post was just to state that I'm pretty sure the best two races I've even seen in person was Smoke/Balog from a couple years ago at Plymouth and now this one. Looking forward to seeing him (and hopefully several other travelers) return at teh end of the month for the 2-night show.
Not sure how that track will be for 2 straight nights...but still very thankful to have him and the others make their way to Plymouth!
Also...I agree, that restart was sure something as well. Good crowd and enthusiastic crowd, and the backdrop of the fair always makes for a better visual!

I was gonna bring up "didn't Balog and Tony have a great battle a few years ago too." Thanks for mentioning, I forgot what track that was at. If I remember correctly Tony gave Bill tons of credit a few years ago in his post race interview.

Is it an optical illusion, or is there really no wall or fence on the outside of the track from the flagstand to the #1 corner between the track and the grandstands?

The cars enter the track between the grandstand and flagstand. the fence picks up along the grandstand after the flagstand and at the end of the grandstand the fence and wall continue but back a ways from the racing surface until the back stretch. The grandstand is plenty far back and the flag stand is far enough down the the stands.
