Our old "hometown" track was a nightmare for track prep back in the 90's and early 2000's. Since pledging my allegiance to sprint cars in the early 2000's, I have seen 80% of my racing at Knoxville, Beaver Dam, 34 Raceway, and Wilmot. I don't remember a single night of bad track prep at Knoxville or Beaver Dam. The one race I saw at Wilmot was awesome this year. (yes, I know it got rained on and became a lock down conveyor belt, but track prep was great) And, since I really don't remember anything negative about 34, I would assume that was fine as well. I also visited Jackson last year for a weekly show. Track was a smooth as glass---not a bump, not a speck of dirt in the eye.
Am I spoiled? Or, am I not observant enough?

knoxville and more so the Duncans and staff are Incredible!! I guess more so even they can NOT replicate or do i want them to make the same track every night!!!! Get in and drive is all I want!!! Just seems to me everyone wants a dryslick (pavement) track more and more every day no matter what class of cars. P.S. I remember a night at the old Fargo track (1/2 mile) where Woo late model driver Rick Eckert came in after hot laps and said we ca NOT race on this it's to FAST at the drivers meeting. it had rained for 2 days before,. needless to say they raced and man was it FAST was all I remember. To me thats part of the fun showing up at the track and saying steve is going to be fast the track is this or Donny is going to be fast because the track is that.
