I would be OK with getting rid of time trials all together.
Random draw for heats, reverse starting lineup, run heat again, best cumulative finish gets the most points
But I'm just speculating & making suggestions, present format is OK too, thoroughly enjoyable this year!

How many alternate options are you going to provide for the Nationals format?? Holy crap you must be blue in the face.
Now you have the problem where you draw for heats and heat 1 is Brown, Schatz, Sweet, Gravel, Larson, and a Madsen all get into one heat. Now rolls out heat 2 and it has a bunch of no names luckily through their draw. Someone has to win heat 2. Doesn't matter how you flip the heats in round 2, it is not fair for the group in heat 1. Might not yeild the best racing either due to not being a true invert based on time trials.
Quit trying to completely change the format. It is fine and has worked for years. Minor tweaks can and have been made based on car counts and quality of competition. This format has proven time and time again to give us amazing races all week with now chances to come back on Friday if your qualifying night didn't go as planned. I am sorry you and a small minority have such an issue with it.
Please do not change the Nationals format.

"invert for the A-main is 8"
Drivers who make the A in the heats get their time back and the invert is 8.

"the invert for the A Main is 8"
Somebody already said that... & I already said "but it doesn't say if invert is based on points, TTs, or heat finish"
I get it NOW.... but I still can't find it in print
Enough already

I really like that format idea----especially for a single night WoO show. (or any sanctioning body for that matter)
As far as me repeating the 8-car invert--sorry, didn't see someone had already given you that info
