Well I do recall some Posse fans getting down on Hodnett pretty hard last year and some the year before that when he didn't appear to be where he was three and four years ago. And some of those fans putting him down weren't very nice about it. I know that one of my responses to those Posse fans was that he "hadn't forgotten how to drive overnight"! And I was fine with you thumping your Posse chest over Hodnett besting Brown the other night. Really! I do get a kick how some Posse fans don't reserve their extreme criticism to just outsiders.....hell some of them bash their own pretty severely, also. Never have understood that.

I dont bash, but understanding the psychology of it isnt really that hard. How many times did you and your brother fight growing up? But if someone else tried to screw with him you'd be the first one to step in and defend him.
Same thing here, although some (most?) of the people doing the bashing are jack offs, the same principle applies. When someone outside the area steps in to talk smack, the hometown crowd can get quite defensive.

I know what you're talking about for sure.......but in the same breath when it came to defending my younger brother, I always considered two things. First, did he shoot his mouth off first? If so, well then he's on his own. Second.......if the other guy looked to be an ass kicking brut.....well then once again, he was on his own! Some lessons in life come harder than others.

Hahaha. Having a younger brother, I can definitely speak to the first point. The little bastard ran his mouth one time to an older neighborhood kid, and when he looked at me for help, I said "Your mouth wrote a check, let's see if your ass can cash it...."
He learned quick.

Sounds like both kid brothers had wise older brothers! I hope you and your brother are as tight today as my brother and I are.

Wel,l Philly fans in all the stick & ball sports are famous for booing their own teams when they don't do well.....
I think Pittsburgh fans might be more loyal, but as all sprint car fans know, thats part of Ohio...

"although some (most?) of the people doing the bashing are jack offs"..... would that make them "bash offs"?

How did a post about Sammy become a Posse Vs the World debate? Anyway, back to the original post. I am not a Sammy fan but he was not whining in that interview. Like many have said, he was simply stating the facts and he got off the gas to save a 2nd place finish and the points that come with that. Had that been for the big money I am sure he would of kept his foot in it!

Just watched the interview. No whining, just "telling like it is"
Also watched highlights.... great race! Good battle between Hodnett & Brown, then Sammy passes them & another car like they were standing still. I think he could have passed Kennedy on the last turn, but Kennedy made a good racing move. Sammy would have done the same thing.
Looking forward to Saturday nite Final.... has anyone ever swept 360 & 410?
Ahem,,,, by the way, Hodnett beat Brian Brown on Blackjack's home track...... off the porch!

Not sure how the hell I let this one get by me.....when did Hodnett beat Brown? Were you dreaming again? Hell, I even responded to you as though you were correct.....

Interview after night one of the 360 nats with sammi was hilarious. A man I have personally witnessed cut down on opponnents numerous times, and so have you, those who had the audacity to get a run to pass him, sending them flipping into the infield destroying their cars in some cases. So Kennedy rather mildly pinches him down to slow his momentum and win the race. Tears. Typical of his career.

Bull dung Mr Presdident it did not happen that way. I read the interview word for word

Enjoy.....I know you will. We did for nearly forty years. In fact, I spent enough years at the Nationals (all four nights) that even now, if I close my eyes and picture it, I swear I can smell the place and all the great memories come flooding back. Damn, I miss not going!
