Statistics on The Cobra for Sunday @ Weedsport: qualified10th. finished 2nd in his heat. Finished 7th for the feature. The track was very slick but he did this with a 360 FORD powered motor. Thanks to Tom Forgione of North Coast Performance for the FORD power.

I really do believe it is. That said, regardless of what was under the hood, Hebing had an impressive night at Weedsport. Running that well against the WoO is tough enough let alone with considerably less horsepower. He actually did far better than the lone Posse car who made the town.

Ya took the words right off of my keyboard!!! Hilarious!! The guys has issues, that's for sure. But good to know Travis is still with us. Between this and harassing the Tony Stewart Racing people on their own Twitter account, he is a busy fellow.

He is also on 4M, the dirt late model message board. With Andy Durham producing winning Fords, he has more to be happy about!

If you stop and think about it for just a couple minutes, the lower horsepower probably helped him as slick as that track was. JMHO

Reading Doug Auld's column this month, he the editor of his magazine Sprint Car and Midget, about the fact that something needs to be done and as soon as possible on the costs of sprint car racing and the absolute need for new rules for major sprint car series engines and tires or we will wake up some day with no sprint cars and say, "what happened". He says, "instead of pushihg new divisons of sprints into affordable cars why not address the premier divisions", i.e., WoO, All Star series and a couple of asphalt series that run the $50 to $60,000 engines that require refreshening every 6 or 7 races, and also think nothing of only using tires for one race and the next race just pull another $200 tire off the rack. He's not talking about RUSH, Racesaver, and other low cost engine and tire rules organizations but the big guys. The weekend before this issue went to press Knoxville, the sprint car capital of the world, had 18 410 sprints and 18 360 sprints and one of those drivers had cars in both divisions. This is happening at sprint car tracks around the country. This loss of owners will continue until someone does something to make it affordable. The WoO and the All Star series rely on local cars to fill their field with 30 to 35 cars or more. That number is dropping rapidly.
When reading this article I was thinking about Tony Stewart Racing and the big bucks they have been sucking out of Ford for two years now, yet racing without a Ford engine and it may be two more years befoe they have their Ford 410 engine. And there is talk that this might be a free engine for TSR but for others it may be a $70,000 engine. Spec engines are of course the answer to the engine problem and it seems like new rules for tires could be done much easier, I mean late model racing has fixed their tire costs problem so why can't the WoO. Ron Shaver and other engine builders should have no problem getting a consistent 800 HP out of a spec/crate engine. When Donny Schatz and his father were testing the LS7 engine on off weekends a couple years ago at Grand Forks' River Cities Speedway, they were very competitive and they are not by any stretch, a major engine builder but they created a low cost, competitive low RPM, low HP 410 engine but gave up on the idea after not getting any help. You might say, don't fix somerthing that isn't broke, but yes indeed, it is broke. What happened?
Lawlessness + liberalism = HELL - NYC, Detroit, Chicago,
Seattle, LA Who the H runs those cities.

i watched the race replay on the woo site. does anyone think that the success that the ford had was due to track conditions. not taking anything away from the guys talent. if your making a 1000hp and you can't get it to the track it isn't worth a penny. so if he can get his 800hp engine to hook up he can compete. i really don't think that he would be competive at place like knoxville that is always fast.

I've just completed a full dynamic analysis of this post. I analyzed the writing style, cadance, fluency, punctuation, and of course,.....content. There is a 98% chance that this is Minthess.

Some times the facts are what they are. Just that: Facts. I am NOT "minthess" but I am race fan. Unbelieveablle how immature some people can be. You might want to check out the write ups on Open Wheel 101 and Dirt Track Digest that support the facts of a hometown guy doing pretty damn good!

I mean, sometimes you can just put words together and think they make sense when they don't.
While it is a fact that he was running a Ford, that has little to do with Hebing's finish. The facts that do matter are that it's a track he's familiar with and he was running a 360 on a skating rink of a track, but don't let that get in the way of being a Ford Fanboy, which is another fact - your posts on RaceNY prove that.
