Agreed. Heavy wet, every one is fast ,no passing. Slick with heavy cushion, no one leaves the top, no passing. Slick with narrow or small cushion creates two or three grooves with lots of passing, moving around, and good racing. Slick with no cushion, follow leader around bottom, no passing. These are the facts. Just a matter of what you like to see. Most of us prefer the third with passing. Some like high speed with no passing (strawser). It is a fine line to create a track that doesn't have a huge advantage on the top or on the bottom but port does this much better than the groove on consistant basis. The grove is either a train around the top or a train around the bottom. In all of this it doesn't matter even a little bit what the lap times are.

Strawser... The Big E, is nowhere near the race track it used to be. The grove on Friday nights outlaw show had a wet/track and had little passing. Kreitz won. Monteith was coming thru the field. But, because the surface was as good as it was. Everybody was fast. You get a track that starts to slick off then you see guys start moving around, slide jobs, and passing. If port was soft and wet it would be follow the leader 1 groove racing. So what's the difference ?

That is a lie from the pit. Everytime it has rained on raceday this year the racing has be much better than the weeks it hasn't rained on raceday. It needs to start out wet unlike Port and slow down as the night goes on. See Knoxville over the next week and a half. Port starts out slow and gets slower as the night goes on. Port track prep = F- and I am being generous with my grading.

Please fellow race fans ( all but one ), please do not reply to, or get in any conversation with you know who. Just don’t do it, and all will be good again in the world. No matter what track you attend on Fridays and Saturdays, just don’t do it, resist the urge. Start a new thread and he goes away. I’d really like to have adult and legitimate conversations about sprint car racing with everyone, and not a dump fest with Chris Jericho’s latest addition to The List!

So why did a thread about a driver getting a ride turn into a track bashing thread? If a person wanted to bash said track, couldnt that person start a thread bashing that track? And that way threads could stay on topic.

Give it a rest dude. I'm not a fan of Port's surface most of the time including this past week but do you have to hijack every damn thread and make it about Port's track prep? Someone could start a topic about their favorite potato chips and you'd post something about Port's track surface.

Don't eat chips much, but Zapp's Voodoo Chips are great as is anything Middleswarth, though that is mystic as much as it flavor I presume.

Longtimemitchfan said Brock should run at a track that only had 12 cars Saturday night to shake it down. I said he should go somewhere else to shake it down because they will learn more about what the car is capable of somewhere you can actually get grip on the track. Instead of sliping and sliding all over the place.....just saying. I am sure they liked where they made there debut since they qualified for the feature even though there was 67 cars at Knoxville last night.
