Nice to see they had a very good night in Knoxville. Now Brandon needs to paint it Sammy Black with the gold spectrum number 1 on it for the Nationals.
For us old guys how about putting Mike's Construction on it somewhere too.... Grandpa Mike's name on winged super mods and sprints goes back many decades.

Hopefully they can work something out with Sammy. It would be nice if Henderson could also find something for The Nationals too.

For a heavy and narrow track he earned that win passing for the lead! It made it worth the drive. I think Eliason had a faster car but in traffic Sammy could put the car wherever he wanted when others couldn't.

Sammy definitely earned it. He has been very fast in this car. Could possibly see him putting it in the A at Knoxville.

I agree! Put a big Number One on the side!
Pretty cool to see how much progress was made from last Wednesday to Sunday.

I don't know what kind of fountain of youth he found but I want some of that water. I commented about the effects of age when we get into our 60s in another thread and he feed me a feast of crow this weekend.
I hope he keeps it going through the next couple of weeks. Us old guys will.be standing up a little taller and puffing our chests out.

Thanks for posting. Was about to go look for it. I hope the naysayers and Sammy haters took note.......no doubt about it... a clean drive in some very tight situations (which doesn't surprise me one damn bit)! Granted, he wasn't up against Schatz and the Outlaws, but just the same he put on a hell of a performance both Saturday and Sunday nights. The guy can still get it done! Here's to the BIG 3......they were the very best of the very best.....regardless of generations. And I'm an eye witness that goes back to the 1950's.

To me a major factor for gauging a driver's talent, is their ability to hop in any ride at any time and make it go forward. Not everybody can do this. 3 nights in and Sammy's got a win and a 2nd place? That's impressive whether your a fan or not.

You can love him or hate him but you gotta respect him. He's old enough to be the father or even the grandfather of many of the drivers whose asses he's kicking. The man is a machine. #StillWinning

I've always thought Sammy was a little more dirty than the rest of the HoF drivers or best of the best. People talk about Schatz being so clean and I have to agree, even though I root against him (becasue he wins so much). Just seems to me I have seen Sammy not have the power while in the lead, but not be afraid to block and cut some guys to the point they almost destroy their car slowing down and lose a ton of ground against him.

While not disagreeing completely to avoid starting a hate on Sammy debate, his pass last night on Cory was as clean as it gets. That track was rough and I was expecting something drastic to take the lead but it was well timed and as clean of a pass as any that night. Sammy just doesn't hesitate when it comes to anything, always reacting like it comes so slow and naturally to him. This might get him into trouble here and there but its also the reason he won that race (among many others) in traffic.

With the announcement of Sammy running for Thone for Nationals now, here is an idea. I wonder how tough it would be to get rights to put a throwback scheme on with the famous #1 on the car (TMC, Hooters etc). Think about how many more page likes and follows Thone Motorsports would get by announcing a throwback car and then making everyone wait a week to see it. This is the turning point for this team in my opinion. I kind of feel like this is the time this team could really make a name for themselves
Real race cars don't have fenders...

If he does a throwback scheme, it has to be the TMC car. To this day, that is still the most beautiful sprint car to ever hit the track. Simple, sleek, clean and it looked like it was going 150 mph sitting still.
