My parents are making the trip up to Knoxville again this year. They are getting a little older and my mom is developing a habit of falling over stuff when walking. In the past we have tried to find parking on a night by night basis that make it easy for us to leave to the south. Does anyone know if there are any week long passes that can be purchased closer to the track than that? I don't know if the parking at Hy-Vee can be paid for the week or if it's first come first served same with the church right there.

No she doesn't currenty qualify for a state issued parking permit, or probably really need it. So the ADA parking option near the grandstands won't be an option.

Hy Vee does sell four day parking but the spots are first come first serve. A better option is the street that runs east and west....on the south side of Hy Vee.... W Rock Island St. There is yard parking that is real convenient. You can purchase week long parking and quite possibly the home owner will hold a particular spot for you also. That's not much further than the Hy Vee lot. North side of the street there are several houses behind Hy Vee that are good. That street is blocked off from hwy 14. So when leaving.....go east to the stop sign N Grant St, hang a right and go to the stop sign (3-4 blocks) W Pleasant St. If you then go right at the stop lights is Hwy 14/S Lincoln St. Left at the lights takes you south, of course. The nice thing about that for parking is when you leave you are always in the flow of trafic.

The chamber does parking in the park just south of track. There is a reserved section that is on concrete. It is a bit of a walk more than HyVee would be but not terrible.

I had a similar issue with my cousin a few years ago when he was still recovering from a serious illness. Since the traffic in front of the track is generally slow moving, we just dropped him off at the gate. Then we went and parked the car in our reserved spot in the Chamber of Commerce lot.

I always pull right up front to the front entrance and drop my dad off while I go park.
