I'm glad he had a good run. Was the track dusty? I've never been there, but I've seen quite a few highlight videos where it seemed to be very dusty. I can understand why that draws complaints.

It’s easy to call out a small group that is wrong. Most people are fine with a certain amount of dust and the track being slicked off if there is still passing happening. Doubt there were too many critics about last night’s track. I think it was pretty funny that he gets his first or second top 5 of year and runs his mouth like that.
Thnking about it, didn’t they water the track at least once last night?

Yes they did water it down some. And I agree about his running his mouth off. I doubt anybody thinks the tracks should be "soaking wet" as he put it. He also says all the cars are equal? Right, that's why so few dominate.

I have been there for MANY Kings Royals, and the A main is usually very dusty! If you don't have wrap around safety glasses, you won't be able to see during the A. Will see how bad it is tonight.
This is not a complaint, if you don't like the dust, stay home!

Yes, if they wouldn't have reworked the track.... there wouldn't have been any passing in the feature. In my opinion Thursday nights race was much better. As the night goes on I don't mind if it slicks off as long as there is a cushion for the drivers to lean on. I am here at Eldora the first night they had the right amount of water on the track.
Get it wet at the beginning of the night like Knoxville does and by feature you will have a very racey track by the feature and not have the track all used up before the heats are over. Leave the cushion alone...I like to see them ride it like at that Doty classic.
Let's go Sprint Car Racing!
Knoxville - Best Track In the USA!
Eldora - 2nd Best Track in the USA!

Dusty? From my perspective it was fairly extreme. However, at Skagit speedway we generally see very different conditions. It was blazing hot by comparison the past two days here at Eldora, and yes, they did water the track multiple times. The waves of dust were really waves of dirt. Lots of it. impossible to see at all in turn 4 without some serious eye cover. It was a whole new experience for me, but I didn’t mind at all. Racing was great. Multiple lines around the track were equally fast.

I was there. I wouldn’t say it was anymore dusty than previous recent outlaw races. Qualifying was kind of a joke, I’ve honestly never seen the track that slow in 20+ years I’ve been going. Feature was ok but wasn’t impressed with the racing the rest of the event. Rico’s heat was probably the most entertaining race of the night.

I agree with you on your assessment. Reworking the track helped a lot for the feature.

It probably saved it from going rubber down, which it came dangerously close to doing anyway.

Thursday nite was decent, last nite was not so great. I've been going to eldora for 40 years. It's a travesty that a race can be won on the bottom at eldora. I'm not going back tonite.

He was on the track racing, so he has every bit as much right (if not more) to offer his opinion, than any of us keyboard commandos
That said, I have no opinion on track prep. I can only tell if the race is good or bad

This is exactly right if it would have been worked and watered before the feature it would have been a yawner with little passing. Eldora has the best racing when it' very slick. It very seldom takes rubber because it' so wide and the whole track is used. If you don' like a little dust and your afraid to get it on your shirt maybe you should go to the drag races. Also, i dont know why wilson is complaining either because he has had his best woo runs when the tracks were very slick

Agreed. A soaking wet track sucks. It needs to slick off some through the middle and widen out or it's just as one lane as a rubbered up track. And there must be a cushion. I had the pleasure of sitting through another garbage track surface at Williams Grove last night. One of the worst tracks I've seen in a long time. It was so dry that they were even having trouble getting down the straights. They didn't even attempt to fix it. The only thing they did all night was beat the cushion to death with the water trucks which only made it worse. I'm thinking they can take their $30 WoO tickets next weekend and shove them up their asses. I have better things to do than watch what I saw (and have seen far too many times) last night. Pathetic.

He wasn’t complaining, he was extremely happy with the surface last night

I love dryslick tracks. Matter of fact, Devils Bowl sucks when it's tacky. Rarely is it ever dusty. My name is indeed Dryslick Willie, not Dryslick Dusty Willy!

Weird that Eldora is held to a different standard than other tracks. No one complains when Knoxville is won on the bottom.
