If I hear Chuck Brennen's name one more time I think I'll puke.
I believe that some day, Husets will be bought and someone will open it back up.
Some simple questions:
1)What would you like to see at Husets?
2) What would you be willing to pay for something like that?
3) If you're not a local, what would make it worth your while to drive a ways for a show at Husets?
Difficulty factor- In this discussion, we can't use the words Chuck, Brennen, Badlands, Rubins, asking price, election, payday loans or Mongolian Beef. That's mostly history at this point. This is us talking about the future. What do you think?

1) 410s, 360s, Late model stock cars, and 305s..
2) as a consumer $15 ticket, Sunday night start at 7 end by 10:30
3) The racing has always made it worth my time to drive 90 miles every Sunday night.
4) Specials, WoO, ASCOC, ASCS National. (on a side note, Ive never been to a true late model race but I going to go to Jackson for their Lucas OIl Late race.
5) The racing never needed to be fixed at Husets. The improvements were needed. Maybe not to the extent that it was, but at this point, it is what it is.

Have a big event and I'll be there at some point. When I was first looking about traveling to Knoxville three years ago, I looked to see how much further it would be to get there and saw that would be a doable road trip in the future.
Id like to get to Husets and Jackson as well. Anybody know if Jackson plans on keeping the same dates for their Nationals as this year? Thats always a super busy time for me, and it would be very tough to get out there for that.

Great list. I will add I would like Sunday nights back. Oand Mongolian beef lol. I haven't been to the "new" Jackson but I've been to just about every track within 2 hours of Sioux Falls and in my opinion there is not a racier track. One other thing, $15 seems fair for this but free would be better lol.

This looks good to me maybe throw in a a non wing special and midgets as for the 2019 Jackson Nationals there might be a small change in the date but I think it will still be in June GM

I think the ticket would be
Husets Speedway
Sunday nights
Sprint cars, late model street stocks and hobby stocks
I'd pay $15 for a weekly show and $25-$40 for a special show
I'm a sprint car zombie but don't mind good late model street stock and hobby stock racing. I wonder if there would be enough 410's to go around at the start. Maybe they'd be every other week for a mile? I dunno. The 360's would be strong thanks to the MSTS group. It would be good to see the 305 class grow as well.

At this point , maybe a 360 series especially running Sunday's. Maybe a chance at a decent 410 car counts on Saturdays but no crowds.... kind of bleak .

Sunday night 410's as the headline division.
Since a problem with "one" ownership group was too many classes.
Since the problem with a "different" ownership group was racing 2 nights per weekend.
Personally I loved having races at a top notch facility 12 miles from home twice a weekend, BUT
Alternate every other weekend with "support classes", one weekend run 410s. 360s, hobby stocks
Next weekend run 410's, 305's , late model street stocks.
Sunday before Memorial Day, Labor Day and 4th of July race run 410s, 360s, 305s, LMSS.
$15 ticket price is fine if the purse and car counts are good enough I don't have a problem with 18 or 20.

What would happen if you started the show at 6:00 pm and had the fendered cars run their complete show, heats and features 1st, then run the sprints at 7:00? This should put everyone on the road home an hour earlier. That means 1st heat green flag at 6:00 pm Sharp!

1) I like the alternate classes each week that newbeevur suggested until the car counts appear to be there to run them every week. Theres a ton of hobby stocks in the area so they are a must. It would also be nice to have the late model street stocks to hopefully save that class. they always put on an awesome show. You dont have to have a world class payout, but at least give us something to race for other than peanuts. Axe the B-mods and the mini sprints. the track just isnt right for those cars.
2) $15 at the most. 12 and under free. Get a family in and out with some snacks and drinks for under $50. Cant break their bank every week and expect them to come back weekly.
3) If I lived out of town I would look for the same things that bring me to camp at Knoxville and Jackson. Big 2 or 3 day show, camping near the track, and good local things to do.
4) Some side notes here, do some giveaways like the bikes and stuff for the kids or any sort of activity to get the kids into it so they keep bugging their parents about going. Or a lucky fan draw for a driver for the night and pool the winners at the end of the year for a big giveaway. There are tons of ways to get the fans into it that dont break the bank. At the end of the day you need to keep the fans happy because they are what keep the lights on.

And I want cold beer, hot women and pennies falling from heaven.
Can you be a little more specific? What do you think would be successful?

When: Sunday night(the way it used to be)
What: 410s, some sort of stocks, 305/360s(rotating weeks)
Special shows....WoO, ASCS, USAC sprints and midgets.
Play well with others (Jackson and KVille)
Why hasnt Tony Stewart bought this joint yet?

And All Stars.
Do a bonus for top finishing sprint car at Knoxville and Husets(for the weekend) Jackson too if they ran shows the same weekend.

Why hasn't Tony bought Huset's?
Because the racetrack still is $9.45 million dollars.

I can't see why someone couldn't purchase some land at an exit just outside of town any direction from Souix Falls. Hire a Caterpillar, create a big half mile black dirt race track, wide and banked. Build a berm and buy some aluminum bleachers. Create some camping spots, some nice rest rooms and food stands out of concrete blocks. Build a practical new real racey place. Create new history.

That would be step 2.
Step 1) Win the lottery.

That's a valid point. I thought from the start of the experiment that PPV was something they were hoping would be a money maker.
*edited because I broke one of my own rules- I deleted mention of Mongolian Beef.
