Who else is very excited for this annual event? Who else is going? This is my favorite night of racing in Wisconsin every year. I've been to a lot of races the last few years and this one is still my most anticipated outing. If anyone were to plan a trip to Wisconsin for racing, this is the night I would suggest. BDR is always prepped well and provides eventful races. It's a short and scenic drive from Milwaukee so airfare and hotels are affordable. Now if we could get something going the nights that bookend this weekend maybe people would actually do that.

Trying to decide if I will sit in my usual spot up in the pit grandstand or the super secret newer vantage point Stealth87 was kind enough to clue me in to.

I'll see you there!  I hope to see you in Farley tomorrow night as well?  (Stealth said you may be going?)

I will have the camper in Farley but have a room for Beaver Dam.

To echo what you said, definitely one of my favorite events.  Always great action.

See you this weekend!

I wish I was going, Beaver Dam is one of the more underrated tracks in the country.

Been to Beaver Dam once a few years back for an early IRA show. What an awesome track. Won't make he WoO this year but planning on doing Farley tomorrow. I'll never forget the road grader packing the track a millions miles an hour, centimeters from the walk (slight exaggeration). My dad and I mentioned how crazy that guy must be and two minutes later BOOM he smoked the wall and they pulled the grader off the track with a flat tire and probably a bent rim or more. Very interesting :-) would love to go back. My wife liked having a Taco Bell at the track. The view of the hills to the East is really quite scenic and that red clay was a really racey surface.

On a side note anyone know how Farley is looking for tomorrow? Seems like they have gotten a lot of rain this week.

I'd say Farley is a huge long shot to get in. There's just been a ton of rain in Eastern Iowa this week, though NE Iowa hasn't been hit nearly as badly as SE Iowa, so I guess there's a chance?

A friend of mine called the track yesterday.  Said they were good to go IF they missed the heavy rain last night.  I watched the radar all day and night last night.  They dodged almost all of the rain that hit everywhere else.  I am leaning towards the race being on.  I don't think (by the looks of the radar) they saw more than .25" in the last 24.  We will see

I too am skeptical especially with it kind of misting so far today. We have had 4.8" plus here in SE Iowa the last three days. Hope they make the call soon for those driving decent distances. Thanks egras for the good info. I'll keep checking WoO updates on Twitter.

Just saw that as well. Its been misting all morning and looks like it could continue into the afternoon some. It sucks but with already wet grounds I understand it. I wish some of these tracks would try and reschedule like Fairbury, IL did. Probably a big risk for a promoter but man the WoO season is getting short in a hurry. Sounds like Knoxville will be the next WoO show I see.

Are you talking next weekend or the Nationals?  I am going to try to make the trip next weekend if my son's baseball schedule doesn't interfere.

I'm talking next weekend but I won't be missing nationals either. Smile I like the two day show they have been doing the last few years. I hope they continue to do this but Friday nights crowd is usually a good amount smaller than Saturday.

I'm on the fence.  I'd love to go, but we're doing the two-day show at Cedar Lake in a couple of weeks, and BD wasn't on our schedule for this year.  Anybody got an idea of car-count?

The car count won't be eye popping but the racing will. The facility is better than average. Scotty Thiel and Balog will be able to hang with the WoO. I'm guessing 25-30 cars.

Some of the best WoO racing I have seen has come at this facility-----and I don't think I have ever seen more than 29 cars there.  (I may be wrong---there may have been low 30's one of those times)

See you there!!!!  It's raceday!!!

Weather is absolutely beautiful. It's rained a lot this week so I predict a very fast surface and less dust than usual. Also happy birthday to David Gravel! Maybe he can get his first win at Beaver Dam tonight.

I once shot a photo there that was my biggest selling of all-time.  The Steve and Sammy wheels up shot from 1995 found it's way into about 5,500 homes/garages/shops and The H. of F.  Thank you Beaver Dam....
