No, other than that the armadillos are moving north. Used to see them only on Gulf Coast, last summer saw one on !-70 in Kansas. This summer I must have seen a dozen on !-70 in Missouri....

So this news is as sketchy as any other news about I-70. Apparently, there was an announcement made on the RacinBoys weekly radio show on Saturday morning that the track would be back next year and running sprint cars. Numerous people took to Twitter/Facebook to talk about the return.
Almost as quickly as the news spread, some counter news about ownership and leins on the property spread as well.
I went to the RacinBoys web page thinking that they would have a news story since they broke the story, but did not find one. I did a quick google search and did not find any new announcements.
At this point, until there is a more substantial news release or actually workers putting the track back together, I would call this just another rumor. If anyone actually heard the story on RacinBoys, I would defintiely like to hear what was said.

I listened in on the show and here is what was said.
Ownership group of Heartland Park Topeka has purchased it and was in the process of starting renovation. Laying clay down on existing 1/2 mile track, removing all buildings that now stand. Also said that they wanted the first race to be a big time sprint show.
Also being built would be a brand new drag strip ( named KCIR).
This was spoken about in the first hour, so I don’t know what was said on the second hour. Although Scott did say he had broken this story a few month earlier and that it had come to a Close
We will see

That’s the whole Saturday morning broadcast. Interesting but a lot of unknowns still. They mentioned they thought work had already begun. Possibly tearing up the asphalt and demolition of existing buildings. The clay track surface is expected to be in place by this fall with racing next spring.

Thanks for the link. Even after listening to it, I am no more confident than I was before.
Perhaps if it didn't come from Scott T. I would beleive it more.
