Ever since the WoO returned to Devils Bowl I have been back for the Saturday night shows.
First... really, really good crowd. Even more than last year. Maybe perfect weather had something to do with that.
22 cars, actually 23 but the 00 never unloaded. Would have been nice to have had Ruetzel and Sam15, but honestly I could not think of anyone else that would have made any difference. Had alot of diehard Outlaw fans sitting around me and never heard a single complaint about the car count.
Heats were a typically strung out with minimal passing. Pretty much the norm.
Mods were some sort of invitational, not that it made any difference. 15 to 20 minutes after the green flag dropped in the feature we were still on lap 1. They did behave better after they got strung out.
A-main was decent, a few made big advances in the first 10 laps or so. Not sure what happened to Kane. He was on the pole but got lapped right at the end. Donny is so patient... he just saves his tires until 10 or so to go and then charges hard and passed Sweet with 4 to go and pulled out 1 dozen lengths in the next lap.
Keith Kunz midget wunderkids Klaasmeyer and Robinson were interesting in a sprint car. What a place to jump into a 410.
I enjoyed my night and will return again next year.

Donny's pass of Sweet was incredible. There is no doubt that he is the absolute best driving a sprint car at the moment. Such a challenging move made look easy by Schatz. He was patient yet aggressive. Brad drove a great race and still didn't have anything for the 15 once it went by.

I see it about the same way as PorschePete did. I really liked watching Haudenschild and Schucart go at it for four or five laps. They put on a good show for awhile. I could also do without the limited mods even though my brother's team was there competing in that. Personally I'd rather see another sprint car class even if was 305s. That's one thing I love about going up to Knoxville for the Nationals, you don't have to look at anything resembling a late model or IMCA modified.

What if the tracks that still line the inside of their tracks with tractor tires switched to land mines- no one can say that wouldn't create more excitement for the fans. Cross are shrinking everywhere. Think about it.

The WoO wont put another sprint car class or series with their program, simply because they are afraid that they will out car count them, and put on a better show. just my opinion.

Mansfield might have cost WoO in Texas 1, maybe 2 cars.
In reality, ASCS National running Kentucky Friday did way more damage the car count - I'd guess it probably cost 4-5 cars.
Also, I'm guessing after a few years of <30 cars, fans aren't heading to the Texas shows expecting four full heats worth of cars.
It was good racing for the most part, and they had a huge crowd.
If it wasn't, then don't expect to see WoO back there next year. Spoiler alert: you will.

Yeah, I know they wouldn't. Just saying that because I strictly don't like IMCA style mods or sportmods.

Not sure what WoO we're talking about gentlemen, the WoO I follow has already ran several races with the USAC NW 360s out west (Las Vegas, Tulare, scheduled at Perris but rained out), has no problem running with the Knoxville 360s, USAC National and NRA 360s at Eldora, looks like they're supported by Racesavers this Friday at Lake Ozark Speedway...
I don't think they're scared of much in terms of support classes at all. They bring on plenty of other sprint car divisions.
