FYI ,If you pay to watch Dirt Vision at the $39.00 for a month, you are automatically signing up for reoccurring billing for the rest of the year. There is no way to opt out online, you have to sent them an email to get out of paying for it till the end of the year.
It's a great deal but my job doesn't give me the time to watch in the summer.
Dirt Vision you could do a better job with the sign-up, one month at a time would be better.

It IS one month at a time, you can cancel anytime for the next month.....It just automatically rebills you until you say STOP, like a lot of other things these days.....

This was discussed on one of the original Dirt Vision threads a few months ago and as MSPN points out this is par for the course with services such as this. The onus is on the customer to STOP their subscription. Again this standard procedure for these types of deals in a variety of entertainment and other avenues. You can cancel at any time.

I won't disagree that you can cancel at anytime. That's bloody obvous. I just signed up this past week and made sure to look into the cancelation policy. To point that out isn't being helpful or understanding. You're being sort of a Richard. My advice? Don't be a Richard.
It should be more convenient They could choose to make it more convenient, but they've opted to go the slimey route hoping to catch someone that forgets to cancel their subscription. They've made a business decision. In my opinion a poor decision. It will come back to haunt them in some form. I think they should opt to make the product a better one that will attract customers instead of choosing the slime-ball route.
For the moment, I don't mind the model in place. I'm willing to pay and I'm well aware of the cancelation policy. However, I understand that they're going to piss someone off. If you can't see that, well, you're probably one of the Richards I mentioned above.

They do the same thing on our Roku account. We have to access our account and cancel or they aoutomatically renew. That's fairly common.

People don't utilize DirtVision 24/7. They use it to watch live events. Can you step outside of you're own interests and see the world from another point of view? Again, they're setting themselves up to piss off customers. It's a choice. They have customers that would like to purchase their product for one month. They're inconvenincing these folks. If you don't see that, well, okay.

I didn't start this thread, I'm just saying outhers follow this business model. I'm not seeing why youre getting bent out of shape about me pointing that out. It's rellevant to this discussion. I have never gotten the 30 day pass but I plan on trying it out in June.

Who's bent out of shape? Why would you think that? Because I have the ability to empathize with a customer and you apparently don't?
I don't mind what DirtVistion is doing. I paid for it. If I had a problem with it I probably wouldn't have paid for it. Actually, I still might have, but that doesn't mean that I give up the right to not like what they're doing. They are purposefully not allowing a customer to sign up for only a month wihtout having to bother canceling via sending an email. I think that's a completely legitimate request from a customer.

This is nothing new whether you're streaming music/TV or watching live events... NHL.tv, MLB.tv, & NFL GamePass are all set up exactly the same way. If you don't cancel after the season it automatically renews the following season. If anything this is more annoying because its way more expensive and you are more likely to forget after 365 days. Meanwhile DirtVision is $39 for 30 days... On average theres like 8 WoO races in a month. You're paying $5 a race at that point when it used to be $22.95+ for a single race.
But yes I see where you are coming from. This might piss off a very small crowd but people who think sending an email to cancel their subscription is such an inconvenience... those are the types of people who shouldn't be allowed on the internet in the first place.

It all comes down to todays society. Everyone wants something, but doesn't want to put forth any extra effort to get that something. As stated abovy, It is an "inconvenience" to have to send them an email.
I have never had a service that offers a 1 month subscription, My netflix, Hulu, Spotify, Sling TV, Sirius, Lucal Oil TV, and NFL Network subscriptions did not give me an option for "1 month" or "1 year" subscription, they are all monthly or yearly, meaning that if you do not cancel them, they automatically renew. If you want a one month subscription, get the subscription, then send them an email, or whatever it is you need to do, before you are billed again. If you forget or are too lazy to do so, thats your fault, not Dirtvision's.

Double Bingo. Here's an alternate thought. The flip side is say you utilize any of these services mentioned (I use Spotify religously for example). If I had to "sign up" each and every month, that to me (again, me personally) is a bigger inconvenience then "letting it ride" with the understand I must make a modicum of effort to "cancel" said subscription. From a business perspective think about how much of an ebb and flow of your balance sheet if you're depending on consumers to remember/make sure/whatever "re-sign" up each and every month. You'd have to increase customer service, IT, etc. bc there would be a ton of "shit i forgot to sign back up, help." It may seem "shady" to some, but this is a common practice and puts a little bit of responsibility on the consumer.

The only point I’d add is it would be convenient if they had a “cancel” button as opposed to sending an email. But again, it’s a subscription service, and there are loads of those types of services that make you go through hoops to cancel.
its been great so far, quality of the stream has been night and day. I hope at some point they can get a pit reporter to fill some down time with interviews or something, but to me $39 is a great price for what you’re getting.

What part of I didn't start this thread and I was only pointing out that other streaming services have similar cancellation processes don't you understand? If you want to give someone hell I think you have me confused with the person that started this thread.

If they did offer that option I hope you'd be OK with paying more money for it. They are offering you the $39.00 price based on signing up for a year. Donuts are cheaper by the dozen.

I bet the vast majority that have already signed up will be there for the whole season even with the rainouts. $1.30 a day is pretty cheap whether they are racing or not, wouldn't you agree???

Cost per day is kinda irrelevant, cost per race is what matters. But even with the rainouts this year its still much cheaper. If you signed up before Vegas you only got 5 races due to rainouts...$8 per race. It used to be $22.95+ per race. Once we finally get some decent weather you should be getting 8 races a month... $5 per race.

I signed up for the California swing and cancelled when it was finished as hockey playoffs take up most of my TV time. A quick e-mail and I was cancelled that same day. Not sure what the big deal is... I'll be back for the rest of the season after hockey is done.

I don't look at the daily cost and base my decision on the monthly total. If another bill for $39 a month fits into a person's budget nobody can argue it's not a value. I plan on retiring in August so our whole budget will change. I'm set to get a good retirement but I don't want to make a commitment beyond June until.we see how it all shakes out. It's a good deal and cancellation is easy enough so I don't see any issues. I'm glad they offer it by the month. I couldn't even go see them for one night at $39 at Cedar 32 miles from the end of my driveway by the time I add gas and concessions. That's a great deal.
