Last I talked he was still searching for sponsors.  Nothing yet but my understanding is he will have a car at some point running locally.

Dobmeier Press Release:

Dobmeier to field Team 13 entry in 2018, backed by Buffalo Wild Wings & Lunstra Motorsports

By Spieker Promotions

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (April 23, 2018) – On March 19th when Mark found out he would no longer be piloting the Jimco Motorsports machine, questions and rumors immediately circulated on the future of his racing career. Those questions and rumors have been answered! Mark will be hitting the track once again in 2018.

Within the past month,  Mark has purchased a home south of Grand Forks with a large lot and an adjacent shop.  This will allow his family, especially his two boys Jaxson and Ty, the room to play and grow while Mark and his crew will have the shop space needed to work on his race equipment.

Mark has now formed Team 13 Racing, under Mark Dobmeier Racing LLC.   This newly created entity has entered into a purchase agreement with Blazin’ Racin LLC, owned by Todd and Susan LaHaise for their race equipment, semi and trailer. Buffalo Wild Wings will remain a primary sponsor with the primary B-Dubs colors and logos to be retained. Mark invites everyone to support the LaHaise’s new Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant in Sioux Falls, S.D., as well as their other nine B-Dubs locations in South Dakota, North Dakota and Minnesota.

After three months of racing retirement, Dave and Jaime Lunstra of Lunstra Motorsports will be back on-board Dobmeier’s No. 13 machine, which will also be a primary sponsor. The partnership reunites them with the Grand Forks driver after Dobmeier and Lunstra teamed up for eight years between 2006-2014 competing weekly at River Cities Speedway, Knoxville Raceway, and Husets/Badlands Motor Speedway where they have well over 100 wins.

Also joining Team 13 Racing will be one of Mark’s long-time sponsors, Dahlstrom Motors Inc. of Oslo, Minn.

“I am ecstatic to be starting up this race team with the overwhelming amount of support that has poured out from sponsors, family, friends, and fans. We are working hard on setting up the shop and building cars with our first race tentatively scheduled for May 11th at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks with the Buffalo Wild Wings Northern Outlaw Sprint Association (NOSA)” said Mark.

I'm not right into all of the names and owners but is this what has happened.

Bww owned the equipment, paid the bills and hired a driver. They decided to change things and sold the equipment to Mark and now BWw sponsors Mark and mark owns everyrhing, drives and runs the business.

So basically bought out the team hired himself to drive and kept the sponsor Bww?

How many other drivers own their own cars and teams? Who are they?

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

A lot more than you think.  Name a series and I'll tell you.  WoO off top of head, owners/drivers = Greg Wilson, Logan and Jacob (family owned, not necesarily them individually), Clyde Knipp, Brent Marks, Jason Sides, Kraig Kinser, Jason Johnson, Dane Lorenc.  Other "big name guys" = Brian Brown, Bill Balog, Dominic Scelzi, TMac, Rico, Jac Haud (this year).  Lots of cars in OH and CA are owner/driver.  Your local tracks most are owner/driver situation.  There's tons of others I'm just going off top of my head first thing in the morning Smile

For as maligned as the Blazin' Racin' team has been crtitized on this website over the years, it is nice to see that they will remain in the sport as sponsors for both Dobmeier & Kennedy...... the sport and teams need all the support they can get. Maybe Todd and Susan can now go to the races and actually enjoy themselves now?

Besides being an all-around great guy, he has that great family-related nickname, DOBS.  I'm sure that goes back to his dad, maybe granddad or possibly it did start with Mark.

Lawlessness and liberalism equals Hell. NY City,
Detroit, Seattle, Chicago, Minnepolis, etc. We saw it.
Burning hundreds of buildings, a thousand assaults and
dozens of murders. Getting worser and worser.

Not sure about out and out criticizm, but for sure there were questions about the number of driver changes with the team. Maybe now, as sponsors and not owners, with a driver with Mark's credentials and him being the owner, they will find a relaxing and enjoyable experience in sprint car racing that may have been missing before. Regardless, we should all be happy to see them remain in the sport and support their BWW locations.

I hope Dobs has tremendous success. Ive never heard a bad thing about him personally and am surprised to hear someone on here spouting off about him. But yet a certain someone on this page thinks of the Hauds in a negative light as well so nothing should surprise us. Like Dobs or not, he is a helluva shoe.
