Exposed??? Nah. They're top five in the country as far as speed is concerned. You can see it. Thing is they would have to be out there for a week or two even before the Nats for tuning purposes. So 3+ weeks away from home is not only really expensive, I'm sure it would be hard on Davey. Then throw on two 20hr drives. That's hard on me and I'm 30. I want to see it as much as anybody but I don't think it's gonna happen.

These guys live and die racing their whole lives. They go to bed thinking about it and it is what gets them up in the morning. Davey could sleep the whole ride out. And someone would put them up in Knoxville. Already have one volunteer on here. Scruffy is no spring chicken and he is trucking the whole Outlaw tour. Racing is what keeps them going, not the opposite. Make hay while the sun shines.

OK, did some research.... Lance was "Rookie of the Year" at Knoxville Nats in 1993. He's made 7 A-Mains (not sure how many times he entered) with a best finish of 8th & worst of 19th. Last 2 times he ran, 2011 & 2012, he went from 24th to 9th & 15th to 8th.
His crew chief Davey Brown, has won plenty of big races (maybe Knoxville?) & like a fine wine, gets better with age
Plus on their current website, it says: "Season goals: To win the Knoxville Nationals and become the first 4-time winner of the Williams Grove National Open" !!!!!

Yes, AND he also had a hell of an accident, running straght into the first turn wall. While running away with a preliminary night feature, if I recall correctly.
That team would do just fine at Knoxville if they chose to go.

You know I never pass-up a chance:
And over the longest term Don Kreitz Jr. who says, "No one in the whole country, with the possible exception of Karl Kinser, is as sharp on chassis and engines. Davey Brown is great on both."
And, thus, if it comes down to Davey Brown vs. Karl Kinser, then Davey Brown wins on longevity - by a long shot.
Who, in any racing series since the beginning of time, has won more races for , might as well call it, 70 years? Nobody - ABSOLUTELY NOBODY! And I'd bet my last buck that no one ever will - for the rest of time.
Although I can't think of a better word, "amazing" is an understatement.

Hard to say... but on their website Lance states: "Season goals: To win the Knoxville Nationals and become the first 4-time winner of the Williams Grove National Open"
If they do well at Mansfield, I think that would pay for Knoxville trip. Davey can fly....

People on this board worry a lot more abiout teams and drivers getting "exposed" than the teams do. The car owner and driver are both in thir 50s. The crew chief is in his 80s. It is pretty obvious that no one on the team is really worried about impressing message board posters at this stage of their careers.
