Sean Becker in the Scott Miller 2sb made it look easy at Petaluma tonight winning the open $2,500 to win event. Shane Golibic was second with Andy Gregg, Kyle Hirst and Willie Croft in the Harley Van Dyke 5h completing the top five.

Andy Gregg was fast time.

Track was real bumpy and single file in the 35 lap feature.

Another good run by Golobic, good luck to Shane in a couple of weeks at Oval Nationals.

Golobic impressed me last night with how he handled the tough track. He's going to be a good one, always really smooth and patient.

Congrats to Sean though last night. It's hard to believe that was his first win since early July! Unfortunately he probably isn't going to be down at Trophy Cup because the only engine the 2sb team has left is an ASCS and they don't want to bring that down to Tulare. Really is too bad because Sean has been awesome in the 2sb ever since he first set foot in the car. Anybody that saw him on opening night at the Fall Nationals knows just how good this guy is. Best of luck to the Shark wherever he ends up next year!

So is he staying in the 35m car next year? or is he possibly staying in the 2sb? do we know yet?

ASCS engines qualified 1-2 last year. so thats not a very good excuse!

Blake Robertson was fast time last year in the 57 car. Danny Lasoski was 2nd quick. I don't know about having an ASCS engine, but I could certainly see where the 57 car might.

However, even more interesting is the fact that the Trophy Cup champion from 2006 only qualified 20th fast out of 75 cars.

Last night Sean mentioned that Joey Saldana had an ASCS engine last year. Saldana qualified 28th quick.

Was Kyle Hirst in the white & green # 14? The speakers at Petaluma are terrible as it was very hard to hear the track announcer. I also heard there were a few drivers from the Pac Northwest but also couldn't here who they were.

What is up with the huge bump in turn one?

You are correct about the announcer, he should give the drivers name while the car is in the back streach during TT's and not when he goes by the front grandstand under full power, he did that numerous times and i could not hear a word he was saying..

Young guns-sprint car drivers who came from outlaw karts (might have forgot a few - sorry)

  1. Kyle Hirst
  2. Robert Ballou
  3. Kyle Larson
  4. Steven Allard
  5. Jonathan Allard
  6. Camron Mendes
  7. Sean Becker
  8. Richard Bailey
  9. Jessica Helberg
  10. JoJo Helberg
  11. Brett Rollag
  12. Shawn Amos
  13. David Tarter
  14. Mason Moore
  15. Dustin Baxter
  16. Brett Miller
  17. Josh Keheley
  18. Adam Main
  19. Bradley Terrell
  20. Billy Butler
  21. Shain Matthews
  22. Kevin Sharrah
  23. Robbie Whitchurch
  24. Zack Mason
  25. Bradley Sweet
  26. David James
  27. Zack West
  28. Alissa Geving
  29. AJ Kerns
  30. Tyler Spath
  31. Ryan Kaplan
  32. Brian Boswell
  33. Chad Noland
  34. Roger Crockett
  35. James Sweeney

good training ground for any young kid who wants to run a sprint car later or an adult who wants to get into a sprint car. Try an outlaw kart first - much cheaper to see if you want to do it - then get a sprint car.

for the uniformed, is Scott Miller the owner of the 2sb the same Scott Miller that used to work on the 32u when Johnny Herrera drove it in 1991-92 and the 5m of Mark Kinser from around 1993-95? I know that Scott Miller lived in the Sac area. Met him at the 2nd Slick 50 series, when Mark first had the Wirtgen sponsorship on the 5m. Nice guy, just wondered if they were one and the same.
