I am looking at getting a set of ratcheting belts for the upcoming season. Those who have them, how do they fit between your seat and side panel and is it easy to get your hand in there and ratchet them tight? I currently have a 17" seat and there is maybe 3-4" between the side of my seat and the panel.

I have a 16.5" seat and I reach outside to work the ratchet. I use the clamp. I do not have a bung welded in. Last year's car had the A frame in the normal spot. It was no problem for me to do everything myself. Which is good, since I most often go to the track to race by myself. This year's car has the A frame moved back. Which means the clamp is moved back and I'm having a much tougher time doing it myself. I have to play around to figure out what is going to best best way to ratchet them. I also have fairly short side panels, so the ratchet is behind the side panel. I ground the ratchet handle a bit shorter to make sure it could not hit or get caught on the radius rod as well. I drilled a little hole and put a spring on the ratchet so it would always come back to where I wanted it too.
