yes this a complaint thread, will be professional. First two nights at Volusia get back to condo right around 11:00 after a 40 minute ride.
Four heats of sprints, two dashes, Bmain and Feature along with 6 modified heats. Even reworked the track Tuesday before the feature for a half hour.
Two hours to run the show. Modest crowd as usual for All Stars.
Last night, fewer races and get back at midnight. Stands were jammed pack, uncomfortably so.
4 heats, a dash and a Bmain, and feature along with two 15 lap modified features.
Last night we are jammed like sardines and there were four sets of interviews. Only two modified races compared to six heats on Wednesday and Thursday. The mods had a ton of cautions last night and the folks in the pit stands are shaking their heads. Yes it happens, I get it. The place was standing room only and lets face it, there to watch the Outlaws. They run four heats a dash and a Bmain, all caution free mind you and that takes maybe 30 minutes of actual push off to checkered flag.
Do we really need to interview the top three finishers of the mod races when we’re behind schedule and we all have knees in our backs because the event is a huge success? Interview the winner and keep the show moving please.
With social media we are so much more connected to the drivers than when I attended my first race in 1983. I was attracted by the racing and the sound of engines. Last night it was over the top pomp and circumstance and why I attend fewer and fewer shows every year.
Trying to give constructive criticism to make a point. We all like an efficient show, if it gets out of whack, make adjustments to keep the racing on the track. Hard to complain when there are cars on the track. We aren’t there to hear constant noise over the PA, it’s nice to actually be able to talk to those around and five minutes of silence does us all well, lol.
All in all, been attending Volusia for many years and last night wasn’t typical of the way they normally run shows here which is why I come here. Don’t turn it into a show that’s not about the actual great racing that we all know and love.
Congrats to Sheldon and looking forward to tonight and tomorrow.

Said this alot the past few years & was labled a complainer. Must be that as we get older we want to see less jacking around.
Most nights anymore I'm in bed around 9 or 9:30 & with the busy season coming it will be earlier than that for about 3 or 4 months with that said I pick up cans at The Field after everyone clears out so every year gets worse on the old man when he don't get home until 1 or 2 in the morning. Seeing the Grandkid put the money in her account or buy school clothes is worth it & I've also been trying to keep a positive attitude on the other & that might very well be the guys I set with at The Field.

I hear you, but they were struggling with the track all night. I think that added at least 45 minutes to the show. Also, 77 ump cars have raced this week from 21 States for probably what amounts to peanuts, so a few VL interviews is probably the right call.
Lets hope for an earlier evening tonight.

Saturday night was awesome. Speedy show and it kept flowing. Half the mods sure help. Kudos to Volusia employees, always very nice and the food is great. Huge crowds! Not sure why they allow so many people in the pits? People pushing strollers, lots of small children, just seems like more can go wrong with this than can go right.
Ive never seen so many commercials to sue than in FLA.
friday the first heat was run at 8:20, tonight we were in the car leaving after sprint feature at 9:40!
well done!

Yea the strollers in the pits just seems really dumb.
Volusia needs a bigger grandstand. They need to tear down one of the 10 row grandstands in turn 1 or 4 and build a 15-20 row stand because it’s impossible to ave any room whatsoever with what they have now.

"Stands were jammed pack[ed]"
I see what you're saying.............but, the stands were jammed packed. I don't know a single company (WRG is a company) that will make any drastic changes when the demand for their product is so high.
Me personally, I have never been in a hurry to get out of a racetrack. So, long, late shows have never bothered me at all. I like big crowds (as long as no one is sitting in my seat when I arrive.) I don't mind a filler show between Outlaw races, although the Mods can sometimes get really old after a while. Bottom line: I don't disagree with your frustataion. I just think you should make the choice not to attend if it's too much for you. It's not going to change back to the way it was.........ever.
