At this point, I would say your best bet would be to check out front of the door as you walk in for scalpers. I have heard that a lot of people get their tickets this way. If all else fails you can always get a pit pass and hang out there, or get up in the back stretch grandstand early and stay put. Do not put anything up there to save your seat, as it will get thrown under the grand stand, when I say get a spot and stay put, I mean stay put, as it is always packed and people wait in line for someone to leave on saturday night. Ive been to the chili bowl the last 4 years, and I have never actually seen a saturday night show from the stands, and its still more fun than just about any race that I've ever been to, including Knoxville the 13 years that I have gone. I always watch on the big screen. Every year I tell myself that I am going to buy a satruday ticket to watch it, and have intentions of finding a scalper to get one off of, but when the time comes, I never feel that it is worth it to spend the extra money, and just hang out in the pits. I can sit in my lawn chair without being crammed, get up to get a beer when I need one, and use the bathroom when I need to, and not worry about losing my spot.
