McCarl got in on a very local resume, how is that different than Lance? I realize McCarl ran the Outlaw tour for a few years but he wasnt setting the world on fire. And Lance has won his home tracks biggest race 3 times over the very best in the business.

You make a good point- the same one I'm trying to make. Does local success = National Hall of Fame entry?

Terry has won at over 100 different race tracks, over 20 States and with about every sanctioning group out there. A very deserved member of the Sprint Car hall of Fame. Somebody please come on here with his exact Stats they are more than impressive....

If I am reading this correctly, Lance has not wrecked nearly enough competitors to be compared to Tbag...but he's working on it?

from Kville's website - outdated info from 2015:
T-Mac’s racing career has been astounding, and includes the following highlights:
-11 World of Outlaws wins
-15 All-Star wins
-54 Knoxville wins (including two Knoxville Nationals preliminary features)
-Three-time winner of the 360 Knoxville Nationals
-18 top-five point finishes at Knoxville Raceway
-Eight-time Huset’s Speedway track champion
-started the Knoxville Nationals A-Main 18 times with three top-five finishes and six top-ten’s
-over 280 feature wins
from his own website - did not see career totals

As of 2013, Lance had:
293 wins;
95 wins at Port Royal;
80 wins at the Grove;
3 National open wins;
He now has 10 Outlaw wins, 35 All Star wins.
He compares very favorably to McCarl.

Nobody's saying TMac doesn't deserve it. We're saying Lance does also....

All but one of Lance's WoO wins are at Williams Grove, and the other I think at either Lincoln or Port Royal. When it comes to a long list of accomplishments, it doesn't get any more local than what Lance has done. Or any better! He hasn't done much out of the state of PA., but that's not a bad thing. So for those of you who have your panties in a twist because McCarl (2017) is in the NSCHoF and Dewease isn't, be patient. He will be. Even though Lance's accomplishments are very much local, the sprint car world knows how tough "local" is in PA! In fact, McCarl's local accomplishments aren't near what Dewease's are when you compare local stats, but then again, McCarl hasn't been up against a bunch of local "yahoos" either. McCarl getting in ahead of Dewease is probably based on what McCarl has done on a National level. And while he never conquered the world, he's done pretty darn good away from home. So, anyhow, Dewease will follow the likes of Donnie Kreitz, Jr (2015) and Fred Rahmer (2009) and other notable PA drivers into the NSCHoF, as he should. And it will be a proud day for him and all of his fans.

Why be patient? If one guy has very similar stats to another, and isn’t recogized based on some flawed or biased criteria, why not point it out?

I believe IGGRsnake was correct that Lance won a race at Knoxville. I may be wrong but I think it was the HOF race the year Al Hamilton was inducted into the HOF. No doubt that Lance will be in the Knoxville HOF soon.
Lance did a good job of driving a beat up car to a win on Saturday, He is still quite the wheel man.
Not sure why people like to rag on Tmac? He is a good driver and has been for a while. I'd love to see the people that bitch about him confront him about his poor driving or lack of skill. I get the feeling they might be confronted with a knuckle sandwich.

Should have been in on the 1st ballot IMO but I believe the reason he wasn't is because he struggled for a few years in several cars prior to last seasons switch to the 69k. His stats are very comparable to Tmac, as already pointed out. Tmac ran more around the country than LD did so of course he's had more success national but besides PA and MD, Lance has won in IA(3 times), OH, NC and FL(many times).

That's false - He beat the Outlaws in the 30C at Charlotte in 2008. Also, I'm pretty sure he beat the Outlaws at Lernerville in 2010.

Not only are your panties in a twist, they must also be bunched up. I for one do see the prudence of local racers being inducted into the NSCHoF based on their careers. Some don't. When comparing McCarl and Dewease, what McCarl did on the road compared to Dewease's lack of going on the road, probably is what makes all the difference.

I am wrong. He does have 10 career WoO Feature wins, with 6 of his wins at WG. (he also has preliminary wins) So yes, he has 4 WoO wins elsewhere. Lernerville is PA, so looks like 3 maybe not in PA.

I'm guessing the 2 front row challenge wins would be counted in those 3 not in PA, not sure where the other is.

Lance is around I believe 320 career wins so he's second all-time in Central PA. I remember hearing more than once from a friend of Lance that he was offered at least one ride to go on the road, but declined. This was in the 1990s when he was winning a lot in the #461.
His Outlaw wins do include Charlotte & Lernerville, and the guy is known to be very savvy with a sprint car. Great driver and all, but he's more than just a driver.
Did run the All-Star schedule one year and finished second to Dale Blaney (greatest All-Star of all-time).
He'll be in very shortly along with Stevie Smith.

You don't think TMac's success as a local hero at KNOXVILLE has anything to do with election to KNOXVILLE HOF?
