Another win (12 in 2017) and another strong year for Lance and the 69K team. Is there any doubt that the man belongs in the Sprint Car Hall of Fame?

He'll be in real soon although he could already be there too!

I don’t think there ever was any doubt that he wouldn’t get in. I think the better question would be are there more deserving persons and are there persons that need to be inducted this year not only due to contributions but haven’t been as noticed for whatever reason.
I guess the point Im trying to make is there is somebody that needs to get in and it’s questionable whether they will live to see themselves inducted they need to induct that person first. While the induction in itself is an honor it should be bestowed whenever possible to the recipient while they are alive.

A while back someone thought Dale Blaney deserved to be in th NSCHoF (he is), and now questions about Lance Dewease (he isn't but will be). Maybe a quick look at the list of NSCHoF inductees will help those who wonder.

Stevie Smith should also be in.
Then again I believe Mark Kinser didn’t get in on the first try which was an embarrassment.

What has he done that would make him a good candidate for a National Sprint Car Hall of Fame?

http://www.pennlive.com/sports/index.ssf/2013/07/no_2_lance_dewease_central_pas.html BTW this article was written 4 years ago. Lance has only added to his tally. What isn't mentioned in this article is his number of victories beating the Outlaws which if I believe is 10. Not to mention that he has also won races and speedweek championships outside of PA https://www.lancedewease.com/lance.htm
While he certainly isn't a Schatz, Kinser, or Swindell as far as local racers go there are few that have ever been better in any part of the country. That alone will get him in someday.

I am serious and stop calling me Shirley. With all due respect, the guy has an incredible record. But does that qualify him as a candidate for a National Sprint Car Hall of Fame? I presume he's already in a local hall of fame, perhaps several. It appears that most all of his wins are in the same state at hald a dozen tracks. He would be judged against racers who have won all over the nation.

McCarl got in on a very local resume, how is that different than Lance? I realize McCarl ran the Outlaw tour for a few years but he wasnt setting the world on fire. And Lance has won his home tracks biggest race 3 times over the very best in the business.

Lance also is 15th all time in all star wins, and has 10 full point WoO wins in addition to all his local accomplishments.

Lance has beaten the Outlaws, All Stars and has won races in many states including Iowa. He has multiple National Open wins at Williams Grove, along with numerious track championships. He is far from a one or two track trick pony. I guess according to you the only drivers that would qualify for the NATIONAL HoF would be drivers who spent their entire careers running with the World of Outlaws. If that were the case, you would have to remove half of the drivers currently in the hall. He truly is one of the all time greats of the sport and has been sucessful for well over 30 years.

this driver has won all over the East Coast, i do believe he has beaten the Outlaws out of Pa. on National T.V. (look it up) and if he was to go to FL. with this car he would own that state as well like he did in the past (look it up) and i do believe he went to Knoxville on a reg. saturday night show and started like 9th in that A main and won. He is a lock to get into the Hall.

McCarl in and LD not in. Come on, on track McCarl can't come close to racing with Lance.
