I couldn't figure out to change them to kids tickets. Only option I could see was to remove and nothing to change to kids price. I finally said to hell with it and did all adult pricing just to get them on the way.

Just wait until you see how much they are raising camping prices. It was confirmed that seasonal spot for campers is going up to $800  for the year, which is up from $600 this year. 25% increase. So plan on not only spending more on tickets, more on camping as well. They are pushing the cost of eliminating 4500 seats onto the fans and probably going to price some people out of wanting to go anymore.

Pushing the cost onto the fans?   Shouldn't they?  Who do you want to pay for it?  Wanna do a charity auction?   Should Kyle Larson, Tony Stewart or Kasey Kahne pay for it?  Of course you're gonna pay for it.  

You know when the 25% increase in the cost of camping isn't justified?  When no one spends $800 to camp.  If they fill the spots, the price is just right.  Supply and demand at work once again.  

If you won't spend $200 more, there are free craft fairs all over the midwest.

I never once said Im not going to spend $200 there bro. Ill be making the 4 and half hour drive every weekend like i have for the last 8 years. The cost to me is around $500 a month to see the best weekly show in the country. Maybe think about the future of the sport they are pricing out. Families with kids are the ones who will be hurt the most. But sure, there are just plenty of free craft shows those kids can just go to instead of possibly becoming lifelong sprint car fans by your backwards logic. 

Free craft fairs?  Thanks for the suggestion, I plan on retiring next summer and won't be able to afford to go to many of these races anymore.  But no big deal, I have only been going since 1960 and spent 15 years doing racing media work.  They don't need my broke old ass at the race tracks anymore.  I will find some craft fairs to fill my summers.

I get your point.  Maybe a tad snarky, but I am used to arguing with folks about prices being too high for hockey,football and baseball games...............yet their sold out!!

I live in SD. Also those sport are big market sports that have a very large following. Look at those crowds and tell me how many kids are in attendance. Sprint car racing on the other hand relies on the younger generation to keep the sport alive and i think that we are struggling a bit in that aspect. I get that there are plenty of people who were abusing the kids tickets and just using them to have more room but I also feel that those tickets were also used by many in the way that they were intended, for kids. Its very expensive for a family or 4 to goto nationals all 4 days. $730 just for tickets to be exact. Now they are going to raise camping prices as well. Keep making it more expensive and it will not take much before families decide to just go somewhere less expensive.

I disagree that kids aren't in attendance because of ticket prices.  Kids aren't in attendance because we have to play year-around volleyball, basketball, soccer, baseball, and softball.  That's why kids aren't in attendance.  Kids, their parents, and their grandparents spend their entire weekends 4 hours from home at tournaments---with many families split between multiple kids.  I can't get anyone to go the races with me anymore.  Why?  Not prices.  Johnny has a tournament in Timbucktoo for a sport that is out of season. 

That, however, is only my observation.  At my house, my kids play baseball during baseball season and basketball during basketball season.  I go to the races!!

This is the Knoxville Nationals we're talking about, not a weekly show. It's expensive because it is the biggest and best race of the year. Also the most lucrative for the drivers and teams. The track is reducing the number of seats available to give more butt room, of course the price is going to go up. The track is probably right to charge more for camping on the fairgrounds, it's an absolutely premium spot and it's filled with a ton of really fancy RVs and campers. If you can't afford to camp at the track there are a ton of other places you can camp. I camp at a local's house every year and made a lifelong friendship with him. It's far better than camping at the track. If I throw him $300 and buy him some drinks he's happy.

It sucks that the prices are going up, it is going to affect some peoples ability to attend. But we have to keep in mind that the track reduced the supply (seats) and increased the demand at the biggest race of the year. Honestly it will probably be a good thing in the long run because the stands should be full and that may lead to grandstand expansions in the future.

You do.  I asked Mr. Utah if Johnny could go to the races with me.  He said no.  "He is training for the big leagues." 

Im not only talking the campground at the fairgrounds. Im also talking the north campground which the county owns as well. either way, im done arguing over anything. just thought i would let anyone know so they arent so surprised when they try to renew their camping for next year.
