TULARE, Calif. — Legendary California sprint car driver Brent Kaeding his hired Freddie Rahmer to drive his BK Racing sprinter in the 24th annual Trophy Cup Oct. 19-21 at Thunderbowl Raceway.
Rahmer, the son of Sprint Car Hall of Famer Fred Rahmer, is a native of Salfordsville, Pa., and has enjoyed a breakout season competing against the Pennsylvania Posse.
The 21-year-old Rahmer has six wins this year in Pennsylvania, three at Williams Grove Speedway, two at Lincoln Speedway and one at Grandview Speedway.
Rahmer will be one of the 100 winged 360 sprint cars entered in the Trophy Cup.
The entry list has been full since May as racing this year is a requirement to receive an invitation to the 25th annual in 2018.
Next year will offer a minimum $200,000 purse with the Cup champion guaranteed $25,000 and all cars making the Saturday main guaranteed $5,000 total for the three days.

Kaeding has to bring in Posse young gun to get the job done. Now that would make a tiny bit of sense. The way it reads now is niether funny nor sensible.

I'd love if he won it.... that would be tough tho, crazy race, total inversion, rough track. The one time I went a few years ago, there were LOTS of wrecks
If I had a bigger income, I'd be there in a minute....

No, he got it right the first time. The ENTIRE STATE of California chipped in to bring Freddy Jr. out. It was a wise move, financed by a small surcharge on state's lucrative ganja tax....
Seriously....

I believed they have changed the track contour a little bit which had resulted in less wrecks/crashes.
Part of the reason for crashes at this event, every position matters in every race. One spot in a heat race could cost u the overall win.
Experience and aggression pay dividends. Looking forward to Saldana and Freddie.
my $ will be on Rico but honestly there is a long list of potential winners. Kaeding is always fast, both of them, as well as Jason Myers.
If I could only go to one race a year, this would be it. The last few years, maybe race hasn't lived up to its hype, but that's because the fans expect so much. Even an off year at this race, still better than most. Could u imagine Kings Royal or Knoxville with the field inverted for the A main.

^^^ yea it would be 1 heck of a race. the only problem with inversions is a lot of guys dog it. ii always liked the way the dirt big block mods up in new york did it. qualify, race like heck in your heat, then come draw a pill for your a main start. #1 to 24. could not be easier. that most be the problem. easy.

I've never seen a lot of dogging it at the Trophy Cup. The big money is based on points. You need every spot you can get in every race.

THey fixed up the track? Good news
I was really excited when I went, big fan of full inversion, but disappointed at all the yellows
They were even wrecking in hotlaps...
I'd love to go again!

I'm even more old school than that. I've probably mentioned this before, but my intro to dirt track weas at Eastside Speedway in Waynesboro, Va., esrly 60s. They did full inversion based on season points, old hotrod modified coupes. Smokey Stover won 22 out of 24 races, starting from the back. It was awesome
All the cars were different, of course
