Looked like it'd be a fun place to see a race. But did they not allow spectators? All I saw was the WoO hilite and I realize I only see a portion of the stands but it looked empty

Much like Eldora, there are seats everywhere and most people sit in turns 3 and 4 where the beer section is.
i doubt it was a gigantic crowd as usually the Saturday crowd is a lot bigger but looks can be deceiving when it comes to skagit.

Friday nights are usually a bit light. Skagit also holds close to 10k people I believe. It was pretty full tonight and the A main was awesome.

I was there. Looked fairly packed to me.
Great feature. Six cars within 15 car lengths of each other around lap 30 after Johnson ran into traffic. Looked like he totally wussed out when he came up on slower traffic. Wanted nothing to do with them. Pittman went balls out passing Stewart, Schatz, Gravel, and Johnson in a six lap stretch. Best finsih I've seen to a feature in a long time. Pittman just wanted it more.

Last night was a perfect example of looks being deceiving. If you look at the highlights, with the camera pointed to the first turn, looks empty again. But look at the photos from the speedway twitter and you'll see quite a large crowd.

I go about four or five times a year to get my fix. I grew up in central PA, so the experience here is nothing like I remember when I was a kid, but its not bad.
Never met Beitler. No idea what sort of person he is. Is there something specific he's done have an impact on your viewing experience? Perhaps you could expand on this comment?

Largest WoO crowd at Skagit in nearly 20 years last night. And the track was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT both nights. Steve Beitler and his crew have done an amazing job getting the surface back to "old Skagit" after struggling the past few years.

He's had an axe to grind with Beitler for quite a few years now to the point where it was toxic on another message board. Never a reason as to why.

Saturday nights main was one of the best races I have seen in a while. The track was awesome both nights and the crowd was great on Saturday. While we may all not agree with Mr. Beitler it is his sand box. The last year or so he has come along way with the track. For a long time Skagit wasnt the place it used to be but I see it slowly turning around. Now if he can keep a track like that every week and not just when the big boys come to town all will be good. We dont have to many tracks in Washington so dont bash what we do have.

Ive been going to Skagit for 34 years. I know much more of what goes on up there than you think I know. I have also been to alot of other facilities around the country. I have been guilty of bad mouthing Beitler for some of the stuff he has said and done but it gets us no where. He runs 3 of the 4 dirt tracks in WA so we are stuck with him. He is far better than Schram who could give a crap less about sprint cars. If you dont like the guy fine but no sense in bashing him or his track as we all know that gets us no where. As Mr. Beitler would say if you dont like it here go some where else.
