Out of the 24 drivers in the A main last night and of the few drivers that were considered “The underdogs” and out of the underdogs, Aaron Reutzel in my opinion going into the A main was the runt of the litter. With that said, I have to give credit where credit is due. The young man was moving through a star studded field in the biggest sprint car show in the world like a veteran, running from 19th to 7th. I know a couple spots were given to him from cars having issues, but for the most part he did it on his own. For his 3rd 410 Nationals and running his own equipment on a shoestring budget, it was impressive !! I can’t help but think he’s got a bright future running 410’s.

Reutzel had the bottom working well and it was an incredible run for him.
It was awesome to see some of the weeks had by guys that you don't expect - Reutzel, Austin McCarl, Eliason, Starks, Wayne Johnson - hell, even a full time Outlaw like Jason Sides should be commended for his run.

And us "homies" loved the fact that seven drivers that currently run Knoxville on a fairly regualr basis, and Wayne Johnson who was a regular for some time a few years ago, where among those who made the A Main.

I've been watching him run at Devils Bowl in ASCS competition for several years. I've been highly impressed with his progress. As far as what he's done in a 410 recently, didn't he just win a 410 feature at Jackson that had all of the Knoxville regulars there? I also like the fact that some ASCS drivers did pretty well. And of course Jason Johnson is a former ASCS driver and we know what he did! The ASCS in general and their drivers don't get much respect. Maybe some of this will start changing that a little.

Yeah Reutzel won the $10,000 there in Jackson, came in like a thief in the night and took the payday. With that and what he won at the 360 & 410 Nationals he had a pretty healthy pay period for the last 2 1/2 weeks.
The ASCS drivers don't get more of the sprint car spotlight because the 360's just don't have the following that the 410's do. All we have here in Southeast Texas is 360 racing, better than nothing. But you’re right the ASCS does have some hot shoes and the ASCS is a good farm league for the WoO tour. Not only did Jason Johnson find a home with the WoO, so did 2 time ASCS champion Shane Stewart. I heard some rumbling’s about Reutzel joining the WoO full time next year. If that's the case he will bring some more excitement to the tour.
