What do the race fans do at Knoxville on a day like yesterday when there was no racing around, or during the days at the Knoxville Nationals?

It's like a big street fair all week so plenty to do. HOF Museum, driver apparel shop at merch trailers, hang out in camping areas. Lake not too far away. Head to Des Moines for the day. Head to Pella for the day. Brewery in Knoxville. Just relax.

Go to the hall of fame, lots of fan forums. Walk around, shop for t shirts, eat good food, dingus. There's a ton to do all over the track.

We would make a trip in from the campground every morning. Grab the daily issue of Knoxville Digest and re-roam the exhibits. Take second and third looks at the souveniers that were of most interest to us before spending our hard earned cash. We collected 1/18th scale diecast sprinters and T-shirts. Hit autograph sessions, and of course the NSCHoF. And there are aso usually a few race dvd's being shown around the place. Also, there would be a multitude of haulers sitting around with cars out and crews going over the cars to have them race ready. I found over the years that most if not all welcomed the fans to hang around and they would even visit while they worked. It's the atmosphere. You can feel it in the air. It's Knoxville Nationals time, and soon another year had to pass in order to enjoy it all over again.!
