how would that even work if dirt sold stuff out of their trailer and not the drivrs trailers? how would they restock?how would the drivers be able to cart enough stuff around to supply dirt plus try to sell stuff out of their rigs? you know if they could only sell out of their riggs they will have stuff crammed in everywhere they can and that would still not be enough stuff for one or two races. would the drivers have to haul their trailers around anyway to help supply dirt with stuff but not be able to sell out of them? how much storage space would dirt have in a trailer for all the stuff they would have to haul around? i was just thinking about that as i was talking with haud and the boys here. they are at our california shop working on the tulare sprinter right now! haud says for me to stir up the sh.t cause he ain't happy at all with this trailer deal. like i really need to be prompted! says he has a hard enough time affording for sheldon to race as it is. if patty can't make no t-shirt money that means he might have to get a real job! like that's gonna happen! lol. maybe haud could get a job driving a cab for the amish folks!

Personally I think it is plan FUQing dumb. You would think if all the teams got together they would have some kind of legal case some how.
Would be nice if I could boycott the sales but that hurts the drivers too. Maybe just throwing eggs at teh WoO Hauler will get the point across.

Any other questions about why sometimes the WoO drivers want to go off on their own and start another series?

Since the WoO sold the merchandise rights to Arizona my bet the next play is to require them to handle the printing/production.......

I was watching the WoO late model race from Lernerville a while back. There was a guy racing by the last name of Geisler. I believe it was Ben Geislers father. Guess who his sponsor was? Arizona Sport Shirts. A conflict of interest wouldn't you say?

Ah.... you scratch my back I'll scratch yours.
Some years ago the then mayor of Oklahoma City (Ron Norick) spent a bunch of city money with the NHL to bid on a new franchise (ultimatly went to Nashville).
Shortly thereafter the NHL ended up on Lance Norick's (Ron's son and partner in the team) NASCAR Truck. That's what I'd call a conflict of interest.

I remember when sprint car racing was simple but dangerous now it's complicated as hell and pretty safe. Back in the day a driver could be mortally injured before he could have figured out how to market his shirts. Of course then the drivers raced in t-shirts. Damn, I could be gettin' old!

And the only t-shirt they had was from the "memorial" race held in their name...

If you have even been around racing long enough you would know the real money is not made on the track but in the merchandise. Common Knowledge, When Steve Kinser was winning championship after Championship Steve's Wife was making about 4 times more than him. The Sprintcar is in Steve's name and the Merchandise is in Her name. Something in the few Millions of $'s a year.
So, Yeah, It is taking tons of food out of their mouths. The Joke is you have no idea what you are talking about in this racing Industry and where real money is made by the top drivers.

in another thread i stated that we had done some talking and some math and conservitivly estimated that dirt could stand to gross $640,000 per season by taking over selling stuff out of their own trailer. this would, again in our conservitive estimation, cost the folks who are now selling their own stuff about $50,000 per season in lost sales revenue. that is an estimated average as we know some teams sell more than others.

You can boycott the WoO sales by just going to the driver's web site and buying the mercandise right from there and having it mailed to your door, personally, I would rather pay the postage then to give the WoO the money. That's what I will be doing. And I will do it during the off season. Then you have more money during the season for other things.

I suppose a team could just not sign with WoO racing and still follow them. The money they would make in Tow money for signing they can get back from not putting T shirts in the WoO trailer.. Get me. none of the teams could sign a WoO contract thus they shouldn't have to put Merchandise in the trailer. They would still be losing money but also proving a point to DIRT.

Exactly Chuck!!
Price of a Jason Solwold/Team R19 t-shirt: $20
Ordering the shirt online and having it shipped to my home: $5
Buying my favorite World of Outlaw driver's products in a way that ensures all the money goes to the team so they can afford to stay on the road, while indirectly telling World Racing Group to kiss my ass: $Priceless
The holidays are coming... and t-shirts make great stocking stuffers... And I know you want to tell World Racing Poop to kiss your ass too... so what are you waiting for??? :p

it is my belief that dirt signed some of the teams to a 5 year contract at the beginning of 2006. and when i say some i mean the top teams at the time. and if dirt is not going to allow their contracted teams to have shirt trailers what makes you think they will allow non-contracted teams have them. and if the teams that have shirt trailers stand to loose an average of $50,000 per season by having dirt sell their stuff out of it's trailer, why would they want to eliminate more money by NOT selling that stuff. if teams had to sell only from the riggs they would not be able to offer the fans near as much in the way of selection and attention. and naturally they would suffer greatly financially. drivers have been racing for about the same money for years. everything has gone up. i paid 50 bucks to get into the pits at tulare. yet the drivers race for the same money they have for years. when the promotors and owners of the series find a way to make more money how much of it do they pass on to the teams? if the drivers find a way to make money......? patty, dana, diane, angie, ect. can sell stuff miles from any race track. can the promotors and dirt do the same. we talk about the top selling drivers a lot, and the top winning drivers. but what about the the others? ben giesler said he would like to see tony bruce jr. and jason sides shirts as well as others being sold from the dirt trailer. I BET HE WOULD! but what of the other drivers out on the tour that don't rake in the cash from racing. i bet justin and heather would love to be able to make some side money without having to give roughly half of it to dirt. because that is what it would be close to. go ask dana kinser if she would give you about half of what she makes if you sold it for her. go ask the same to diane schatz. don't even try to ask patty! these teams and drivers are our friends. don't most of you agree with that? don't most of you fans that come to the shows consider your favorite drivers and teams your friends? even if you have never met them for more than a few minutes when they are in town. they are just trying to make a living at what they know how to do. haud said the other day what is he going to do when he is done driving. he said," that's all i know how to do". these people are trying to make a living while they can. just like the rest of us. they already pay some of the tracks a percentage to sell out of their trailers. everyone wants a piece of them and what they make. their names are their livelihood. if dirt wants to have driver stuff made and sell it out of their own trailer they can do that. they have certain marketing rights i believe. even if it means giving a percentage to the drivers. why don't dirt just do that if they want to sell driver stuff. it is never enough with these people . they always want more. thse are the same type of people that sell you seven dollar beer! and three dollar sodas. and charge you 45 dollars to get in a race.
