With the nationals just around the corner I thought it would be an interesting topic to see what some of your favorite sprint car designs have been over the years. Doesn't have to be a Nationals scheme either. I miss the old days where lettering was done by hand with pinstripes etc.

Some of my favorites:

Red Bull #9

TMC #1

Old Milwaukee #1

Roth #83 (2016 WoO Car)

Dyer #461

Maybe not "favorite" per se, but the ones I always remember from my youth (besides the uber popular ones like TMC 1, Kinser anything, etc.) were Stevie Smith 19 black and gold (80s/90s) and Franke Kerr 23.

You beat me to it.  The Tatnell flame car was probably my favorite.

I also thought the colors of the Budweiser #9 always looked beautiful.   (and made me thirsty)

About 3 years ago, I really liked the simplistic (white/black), and very sharp look of the #29 Kerry drove at the Nationals.

Too simple for many, but the creamy white 8d DP Motorsports sprinter Wolfgang wheeled in 1989 was so clean and sharp, has always been a favorite with me. Second is Sammy's Big Game Tree Stand car from 2010. Jeff Swindell's red and white flame scheme 107 is in there, too. And last years Nationlals McCarl tribute to his dad's #7 sprint car scheme was damn cool. So I'm all over the board with favorites.....TMC #1, Kinser's green/silver #11 Quaker State, Keith Kauffman's #48 Coors black and gold........way too many sharp cars over the years to have just one.....or even just a few.....lol.

Weikert's cars always looked good. Sammy, did he ever have a bad looking car ?   The Nance 1n was always a good looking car also.

TMC #12 also driven by Scott Ritchart after Mike B. and the Toby Lawless 360 TMC and Hesmer TMC car were sharp too....

Maybe we should just say any TMC paint scheme

TMC #1.

But I also like the simple designs. Kevin Swindells 39 is sharp. I loved the Jim nace 6 here in PA. Those minimal designs can look great if you get the colors right. And pick the right wheels.

Valvoline #11

Quaker State #11

Hooters #1

Some of the Big Game Black & Orange

Some of the Roth Beef Packers

#1Z Zemco in Black

Just a few of the best off the top of my head

TMC for sure.

Joey's redbull and budweiser car

Kinser's superman car

Schatz and Kinser's gold STP design a couple of years ago.

Dusty Zomer white and gold design last year

Shane Stewarts Rock Star design

Those are the few that I can think of quickly.

I also really like anything Blackbeard LTD does.

You Knoxville guys will have to help me out here.....there was a blue frame, white body #2 that was a Lone Star Racing labeled car. Pre down tubes. I saw it at Knoxville in the early 80s.

I think Dave Blaney drove it. Beautiful car....simple but beautiful.

Also, I always loved Clyde Lamar's 3c Tri C cars.

Can you guys post a picture of the Tatnell flame car you are talking about?

Also, forgot to mention the Kinser Quaker State James Dean car was so cool too.

Any sprint car that was pearl white with blue or red trim (AJ Foyt's Bowles Seal Fast, Parnell Jones' Fike Plumbing), also Jim Hurtubise's red and white Sterling Plumbing #56, Tommy Hinnershitz yellow and blue Miracle Power #1 and finally yellow and red with flame design 98jr Agajanian Special driven by Duane Carter and Troy Ruttman.  Yes I am an old fart! But I saw them as a young kid from the infield of Williams Grove.
