I was wondering what's going on with Rico's team? He was scheduled to race at Ohsweken next week.
“Due to recent personnel changes within Rico Abreu Racing, we’re unable to participate in the upcoming races on July 24-25 at Ohsweken Speedway,” Rico Abreu said in a statement. “This has impacted our preparation for these events. We realize not being able to appear at Ohsweken Speedway will be disappointing to the fans who already purchased tickets to see us race, but we hope to be in Canada to race at Ohsweken next year.”
Ohsweken Speedway officials were stunned to learn of Abreu’s decision Thursday night.

Looks like the speedway was using his appearance to promote real hard. Too bad , it will be a let down for many. Beating Customs at their own game has come back to haunt him.
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

I was at the Allstar Race at Pennsylvania Motor Speedway last night which Tony won... Rico was with Tony.

It;s my understanding that Rico and Paul SIlva have parted ways. I also think it's quite likely we may see Rico in the 17 currently being occupied by Jac in the near future.

I "heard" someone say he and "car owner" have parted ways...my response was that's not possible since his dad/famly own the car...then my guess was that it was indeed Paul and Rico who have parted ways. Not saying this is 100% true but just something I heard as well as SpcJay.

For you Jac in the 17 might be a bigger draw personally, but to say that overall Jac in the 17 draws more fans to the track than Rico is flat out wrong. I don't think I've ever seen a Jac (or Saldana) 17 shirt here in Central, PA. Meanwhile I see more Rico shirts around than most Posse drivers. People in the stands during Speedweek would cheer for Rico whenever he came out on the track even if it was just him on his four wheeler checking the track out at intermission. He is a huge draw.
Thanks,
Jeff.

Agreed. I think Jac is a huge draw in Ohio, Rico moreso nationwide.
I don't think people come "just" to see Rico, but he's an added attraction

Jac and Joey have not had much success in PA, so they don't have the popularity there. He's probably the biggest fan favorite at Eldora and is beloved in Cali as well.
Rico is popular all over, and is a newer thing than Jac. The novelty is big with him. If Rico committed to the Outlaws, it would be a huge draw. His win at Pevely last year was about as well received as a Posse win at the Grove.

Just a wild thought but with Rico's family backing and close friendship with Tony anyone think the possibility is there for another TSR WoO team next year??

Don't forget that Rico Abreu Racing is a major sponsor of Sheldon's. Might not go over too well if he gets Sheldon's Dad fired from the 17 car.

Ever think none of you have the slightest idea of what's in Rico and Jac's future.

Rico is quite the attraction to any promoter these days. During a POWRi speedweek show at Jacksonville IL. the anouncer had the crowd at a froth everytime he mentioned Rico, it was quite amusing everybody was just eating it up. I hope he can make a race or two for PA midget week. Watching him drive one of those cars is almost like a religious experience.

there you go, thinking again. of course i respectfuflly disagree with your comment and every track I hve been to with him in attendance in the last four years is like "the rico mafia". the only difference that i see between the two is abourt 30 years or so....

Jac being refused entry to Canada don't really mean shit imo.....You can be refused entrance into Canada or the United States for any reason. You don't even have to have a record. You so much look at a customs official the wrong way and they can turn you back. I've crossed hundreds of times. At one point my racing addiction had them wondering if I was a drug dealer. US customs actually told me this and they were going to do a big time search of my car. LOL They did their thorough search with no issues and then off I went to my race.
